Learning a foreign language is just as beautiful as it is challenging. Learning a language is different from learning other disciplines, such as mathematics, geography, or poetry writing. You cannot simply sit down and memorize hundreds of pages and formulas and then stand up and speak the language fluently and confidently. It takes time, patience, resourcefulness, creativity, and hard work.
In the next 7 days, this book will guide you through a very special and effective process in language learning.

Recensioni
However, I feel the author means well and gives a little bit of useful advice in this lightweight book. Schooling gives people a warped impression of what it means to learn something, so when it comes to language, students think that it's a matter of cramming knowledge into their brain. If they can do enough flashcards, then something magical will happen to turn them into experts. But has that ever been true of anything you've ever done? Can you imagine that being true of sports, art, business, or science? Of course not.
Like any of those fields, the key is practice. Books are a great resource, but for every hour spent learning about the sport/art/science/language, you need many more hours actually doing it and (this is important) getting feedback on how you're doing. That's more or less what this book advises, to learn a bit of the language and then use it in the real world with real people and media. Many students find real-life conversation scary; they're afraid they'll get tongue-tied (you will) and that the natives will laugh at them (they won't). However, that process of trying, making mistakes, and learning from them is vital to internalizing the knowledge as a permanent part of you.
The tips in this book, few though they are (it's only 30 pages), work toward that goal, so they're useful additions to a regular learning program. However, they're not enough to help you learn the language on your own, and certainly not to expertise in one week.
