    I was raised in a small town in Michigan and was born with a congenital problem in both knees. I went through many surgeries, trying to correct the problem but there was never really a cure. Little did I know, that God had "branded" me at birth, for such a moment as this. Many in this world grow up and go to school or college, to get their education but that's not what God had in store for me. My education for writing, came from twenty-one painful knee surgeries, heartache from sexual abuse as a child, and the loss of many things in my life, including the loss of children. As each painful moment came and as each loving desire left; God was taking all the brokenness in my life, and He was piecing it together, so I could have the heart He desired...a heart that could understand and care, for others who live in despair. Without the precious words that He has laid upon my heart; there would be no words to write. As we all face difficult questions in life; these devotions have taught me that God definitely gives us the answers to the questions that can weigh a heart down and bring about moments of discouragement; so I thank Him for the answers He has given me, through His word and these writings… as a means of freeing our minds; so we can discover renewed hope, rather than continual moments of despair.

      In addition, I would like to also dedicate this book to all who suffer with pain…chronic illness and deep heartache. My prayer is that the words in this book will bring comfort to your heart and ease your troubled minds, from all the worries and cares of this life. No matter how many questions we have in a lifetime; we can rest assured that God holds all the answers…the answers that can truly become the stepping stones that can take us further away from our circumstances and closer to His loving presence.

      Why is it that I lean on my own understanding and ways, rather than turning to a God that already has everything figured out?

      Why do I doubt God, when I have chosen to place my trust in Him?

      How do I overcome temptation, when it seems to have a grip on me?

      Why do I allow myself to become frustrated over the littlest things, rather than turning these matters over to God?

      Why is it that we beg God for help but yet we turn around and go back to the problem?

      Why do I find it easier to trust in money, rather than God’s unlimited provisions?

      Why is it difficult for me to believe that God can complete the work that He has begun in me?

      Why do I feel as though I am walking alone through the difficult moments of my life?

      Why do I find it difficult to trust in a God that can never fail me?

      Why do I find it easier to please others, rather than God?

      Why has God afflicted me? I thought He loved me?

      It seems as though my circumstance has taken what little hope I had away from me. How can I find hope again?

      I know that Christ lives within my heart but why don’t I feel His presence during the difficult times?

      I seem to be getting in God’s way, when it comes to letting go of my circumstance. How do I trust God enough, to hand over the reins of my life to Him?

      Why do I attempt to lean on my own so-called strength, rather than God’s strength?

      I pray and pray and pray for peace but why don’t I ever experience it?

      Jesus says in His word that we should rejoice through our trials but how can I rejoice, when I’m experiencing deep pain and heartache?
