•What is going on in the picture on the previous page? Where it was taken? Is someone in the picture with you? Explain why this picture in particular was chosen to start your book.
•How would you describe yourself? Do you think others see you this way?
•What is the most important trait you possess? Has this trait been an asset? Explain how this has influenced the course of your life.
Chapter 2
Step #3: Here you will write about your youth.

•When were you born?
•Find a picture of you as an infant, either alone or with others. If there is no picture of you as an infant, perhaps there is one of a news event that was occurring when you were born, something memorable to people in your community.
•Where were you born? Was it winter or summer? Were you born into comfortable circumstances or were there financial challenges? Were there other challenges, such as disruptions in the home, or community?
•Do you have memories of the earliest years of your life? If not, can you tell stories you heard from those who knew you back then?
•Try to find some pictures that show what you were like, and what life was like, when you were a child.
•Describe scenes in these pictures. Identify people, if you can.
•Can you remember any dramatic news event that caused a public stir during those early years? Describe how this event seemed to you as a
