Franklin is a great series of books that kids love. This one is about how Franklin is bossing his friends around and they don't like it. They get mad and end up getting in a fight. Franklin ends up apologizing realizing he is wrong and they all make up. I used this as a problem/solution book to teach that apologizing is a way to solve a problem.

This is a fantasy picture book for the primary grades. In this story of Franklin, he gets in a fight with Bear because Franklin wants to play certain games and Bear does not. Franklin gets so bossy, that his friends decide to go home instead of play. Franklin goes home upset to play by himself. After stewing in anger and feeling bad about what he did, Franklin apologizes to Bear and when they have a conflict later, they make a compromise that works for everyone. This book is a good example of fantasy because all of the characters are animals that are personified by their words, looks, actions, etc. This book is done in colored pencil. This book characterizes Franklin as a bossy turtle. The facial expressions in the illustrations help portray his feelings as he deals with the conflict. This book could be used in lessons about friendship. This book could be used in lessons about dealing with conflict among peers and how to compromise.
