    What Are Kriyas?

The word Kriya in Sanskrit language is formed through kri and ya. Kri is the action of the elements and the next word you is the Atman or the supreme soul. Translated the word Kriya means the action of the Atman for one’s spiritual growth. Kriyas are also focused on the awakening of Kundalini – the dormant energy in every individual.

    Few Characteristics of Kriyas:

    • External and internal awareness, develop gradually through regular practice of kriyas.

    • Kriyas are simple actions suitable for anyone who has the determination and confidence to perform them and observe the benefits.

    • Scriptural knowledge is not essential to perform kriyas; it is enough to follow the steps mentioned in this book.

    • By practicing kriyas one develops the ability to understand one’s own emotional patterns and related characteristics of the mind. One can easily recognize the inborn habits of the mind; this is the key to transformation.

    • Nadis (Ida - Sushumna - Pingala) are the subtle channels present in the body to spread Prana or vital energy throughout the body. The role of the Nadis is to keep the entire body energetic by balancing the flow of energy between the left and the right side of the body. For the proper flow of Prana, it is essential to have passable and enlarged nodes.

Difference Between Yoga Asanas & Tantra Yoga Kriyas

Yoga Asanas are part of the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga, formulated by Sage Patanjali. Yoga Asanas as are a set of body postures – stretching, forward bending and backward bending - as described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Yoga Asanas are pre-meditative exercises to reduce stiffness in the body. There are several types of Asanas explained in Hatha Yoga. Asanas are practiced to concentrate on the chakras and on specific parts of the body that have an influence over the mind.

Traditional yogic paths of Indian culture are Ashtanga Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Kriya Yoga.

    Short Description About Yoga Asanas:

    • Yoga Asanas are body postures to make the body comfortable and steady.

    • Yoga Asanas are mostly either sitting or standing, including; side, forward, and backward bending.

    • Yoga Asanas make the joints flexible, thus releasing the physical and mental blocks.

    • Yoga Asanas increase the flexibility of the spine.

    What Is Tantra Yoga Kriya?

Tantra Yoga Kriyas are focused on awakening Kundalini – the dormant energy in every individual. This practice performed consciously leads to one’s spiritual growth.

Yoga kriyas are based on putting awareness in certain parts of the body using breath or sound (mantras) in conjunction with certain body actions.

Some Tantra kriyas, which are the part of this book, are based on connecting awareness on certain chakras with open mouth breathing (also called as psychic tantra breathing) while following certain rhythms.

    Why Should We Do Kriyas?

Kriyas help you to know the true essence of your nature, increase the awareness, and to live consciously in all activities of your life. Regular kriyas practiced for a few minutes per day makes all the sense organs flower and to operate at one’s full potential throughout the day.

Practicing Kriyas also balances the internal energies by cleaning and purifying the energy channels in the body.

Kriyas help you to remove mental impurities, mental weaknesses, and mental deficiencies. Kriyas also remove the toxins from the blood and rejuvenate the body.

    Who Can Practice Kriyas

Regardless of age, gender, culture, or a profession everyone will benefit from Kriyas.

One can be a yoga or meditation teacher, therapist, healer, householder, a bachelor, a business man, or anyone who is in any profession.

It is essential to have the attitude of a beginner to get the maximum benefits out of practicing kriyas. One should start from the beginning in order to be prepared for performing advanced kriyas in the future.

    Benefits Of Tantra Yoga Kriyas:

    • Kriyas balance the energy flow in the channels of the subtle body.

    • Kriyas lead to the expansion of inner energy fields. Kriyas cleanse inner impurities present in the different levels of the entire body system (seven chakras). These impurities could be physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, or mental.

    • Seven chakras play a greater role in managing the vital energy. Practicing kriyas helps to distribute the Pranic
