Introduction
It Takes Three contains quilt tops you can make with only three yards of fabrics. These quilts have style and great design. If you’re looking for a fun, quick and easy project for a friend or maybe for a charity quilt, here’s where you’ll find it. Each project in this book is constructed using only three yards of fabric to complete the top, excluding binding and backing.
In many cases, you’ll be able to pull together enough fabrics from your stash to complete an entire quilt. Because some of these projects would be perfect for charity quilts, consider the possibility of using fabrics you have on hand to make someone else a special, much-needed gift. If you’re looking for a great idea book with fabulous and versatile patterns, look no further—you’ve just found it.
Any way you look at it, these eight quilt projects are treasures. Enjoy!
Estimating Yardage
When using yardage, we use a 42 width from selvage to selvage to compute the number of strips or pieces to be cut for our patterns. When using fat quarters, we use 18
x 21" for these computations.
It is always best to purchase a little extra fabric to allow for shrinkage if you prewash your fabrics and to allow for straightening fabrics before the first cut and again during cutting if more than eight strips are cut from one fabric.
Appian Way Bed Runner
This traditional design makes piecing and fabric selection easy. Make this runner to add a touch of excitement to your bed.

Project Note
The yardages listed include just a little extra fabric for straightening. We advise you to purchase extra to allow for straightening your fabric before and during the cutting process if your fabric supplier does not do so when cutting your yardage.
