The Little Bible Heroes series of books is designed to bring many of the most important stories in the Bible down to a young child’s level. These stories are illustrated using children and childlike people to bring to life these amazing true stories. At the end of each story, children are asked questions about how to apply the principles of the story to their own lives.
David is a little shepherd boy. He protects his father’s sheep when a lion tries to take a lamb. He is very brave. David’s brothers are soldiers in Israel’s army, and he brings them food. There is a giant, Goliath, who is almost ten feet tall, who challenges Israel to send a soldier to fight him, but the soldiers are too afraid. David isn’t afraid and tells King Saul that God will protect him from the giant. David takes his slingshot and five smooth stones. He tells Goliath that he is fighting him in the name of God. David hits Goliath in his forehead with a stone, and he falls down. David is the winner. David the brave shepherd boy grows up to become a courageous king.
