Aaron Pogue is a husband and a father of two who lives in Oklahoma City, OK. He started writing at the age of ten and has written novels, short stories, scripts, and video game storylines.     Night fell, dark and still, on the High City. Some stars shone in the deep of night, but there was no moon. In the rooftop garden of a glamorous estate on Kings Way, as a light breeze made the leaves dance and whisper, a lovely young woman breathed deep the perfumed air. It complemented her own perfume, the thick scent of jasmine and honeysuckle that was so popular at the time.

    She smiled in the silence.

    She was small of frame, skinny compared with the plump curves so fashionable at court. She was fit, too, with lithe, strong muscles shaping her bare calves and milky arms. She had long hair, as all women of the day, but tonight it was tied back with silk ribbon to keep it out of her clear, blue eyes. She stood still for a moment, beautiful in the night, and then leaped into motion, taking quick, graceful steps like a cat.

    She darted across the garden, making no sound at
