About this ebook
It is 2008.
It’s been thirty years since an alien substance was discovered that allows the near-instantaneous creation of duplicates of mammals, including humans. Something went wrong. Anyone who had used cloned organs or transplants, as well as hundreds of millions of cloned food animals, suddenly and without warning mutated into vicious mutant monsters.
That was ten years ago. Now the world is crawling with mutant creatures and monsters while humanity has spent the prior years hiding further and further underground. Kyle Higgins and Robert Michaelson’s Clone Fifteen have decided to leave their shelter and travel to the South, where they hope to find the source of the recent buildup of mutant activity.
What they find will change the world forever. Have the untainted remnants of humanity been hidden away too long? A new breed of intelligent mutants is forming and army, but the humans aren’t ready to give up easily. Meanwhile, something is approaching the Earth from deep space, something which may spell the end of everything.

Introduction
The story so far:
Robert Bobby
Michaelson, a high school student, was the first to arrive on the scene when a meteorite crashed into an empty field in 1978. He was somehow duplicated twenty times and taken to a local Air Force base for examination.
Drs. Lewiston and Martin examined and explored Bobby, the meteorite, and the strange pink Slime
that seemed to almost miraculously duplicate any living creature. These duplicates weren't walking talking clones, they just lay there, apparently comatose.
And yet, the military couldn't keep the slime a secret. Carl Krieger, a traveling salesman also came across the meteorite, making a fortune and almost by accident, curing world hunger. Melissa Spader, a young reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer, also wanted to know the secret of what transpired in that soybean field that night. She found out and told the world.
Duplicated animal meat and inexpensive organ transplants quickly changed everything. Poverty-stricken countries begged to join the USA for the secret to unlimited food and longer lives. There were a few holdouts, but those are gone now. At the end of the second episode, Robert Bobby
Michaelson had learned how to awaken his twenty clones. They all shared a sort of group mind.
In book three, Bobby became President Michaelson,
presiding over a United States of Earth. The last remnants of the other nations have vanished, absorbed into the U.S. of E. The world's economies had crashed, and poverty was rampant. Revolution was quickly becoming the only hope of the majority of humanity, as Michaelson seemed to be focusing all his efforts on his space program, ignoring the suffering on Earth.
One man, Kyle Higgins, was recruited by the resistance for his experience as a sniper. After a month's training, Kyle succeeded in assassinating President Michaelson, the original Bobby.
One of his activated clones stepped in and secretly replaced him, claiming it was one of the clones that was killed.
At almost the same instant as the assassination, people started mutating. A link was quickly discovered: Anyone who had used the miraculous Slime
for transplantation changed into something hideous and dangerous. Michaelson watched as Dr. Martin changed into a huge bug-like creature and killed a nurse. As we left off, everyone was looking for a safe place to hole up.
Ten years later, the world is a very different place. Small pockets of humanity have holed up in shelters and bunkers, hiding from the hordes of uncontrollable mutation. Kyle and Clone Fifteen notice an increase in mutant activity coming from the South and leave to investigate. They take a detour to the White House to rescue survivors that are overrun and trapped there. Along the way, they manage to steal an experimental bomb and detonate it on the grounds of the White House to clear the area.
Once free from the overrun White House, the President decides someone needs to find the source of the mutants. Why were there so many, and why did they all come from the South? Kyle Higgins, Clone Fifteen, and the President’s son Tom make the dangerous journey south to find out. They discover, and are captured by, an army of apparently intelligent mutants.

Random Acts of Cloning 6: Mutations
Micah was waiting for them inside. He’d landed his mount somewhere safe under the dome and met them here. I’ve told The Maker that you had arrived. I wasn’t sure he would want to talk to you, but he’s actually quite excited to see you. He’s down in the main reactor control room, and he wants to see you right away.
He turned and his outstretched hand indicated a stairwell up into another part of the complex.
The three men followed Micah up the stairs and into the room beyond. Inside, there were two men
inside, one sitting at a control panel, the other standing next to him. The seated man was just that-- he appeared to be a normal human. The other one was taller than normal for a human, but the most obvious difference was that he was bright orange, almost an iridescent color similar to the shine of fish scales.
The orange man turned around to greet them. Welcome to Calvert Cliffs, President Michaelson. Long time no see.
It was Carl Krieger, Michaelson’s former Vice-President, and at one time the richest man on Earth. He smiled an oversized reptilian grin at his three new guests.
You’ve finally met your Maker,
he said with a laugh.
...End of book Five
Kyle, Tom and Fifteen stared in shock at the tall mutant in front of them. His appearance was stunning, with bright orange skin that shimmered almost hypnotically in the dim light. Kyle wondered how dazzling he would look in full sunlight.
Krieger glared at them. I understand that you’ve taken to using my winged riders for target practice. And one of them was lost in the explosion in Washington, rider and mount. Am I correct in assuming that explosion was your doing, Mr. President?
The way he said Mr. President
made Fifteen uneasy. It was almost like he was putting quotes around the title when he said it. Fifteen cleared his throat and said, "Yes, it was my decision. The city was overrun with mutants. My original and the survivors with him were trapped in the bunker under the White House. We used an explosive device to
