Images of WW1 - Paul Powici
Introduction
I recently came across these images which were taken by my grandfather whilst he was serving in Egypt and (the then) Palestine during WW1, although some as far as I can research may have been taken elsewhere in the Middle East.
My grandfather served in the 5th Bn The Queen’s Royal Regiment (The 5th Queen’s), which were based in Guildford where he was born and lived. He returned to England having been wounded and convalesced at Seaford, Sussex.
The title of each image is exactly as he noted it on the reverse of each photo. Where I have been able to research any additional detail I have added
