About this ebook

On the way to the bus stop which was damn near a mile away, Shanda is approached by a nearby neighbor. He rolls down a window and asks, “Hey, how far you going?” At first Shanda seemed reluctant to acknowledge him. I guess her Chicago heritage surfaced when she looks over, smiles and answers him. “I‘m heading to the bus stop. I have a job interview and I’m running late.”

The guy pulls ahead of her and parks the car. Shanda took that as an invitation to get picked up. She sashays over to the car and gets in. “Thank you! I spilled coffee on my dress this morning, and had to change at the last minute.” “Well I guess you can say I’m glad that happened.” She reared back and looked at him, “WHAT? Why?” Donning one of Trixie’s pouts. Or maybe it’s truly her own. Remember we don’t know this chick.
“No beautiful, I‘m only implying that had you not spilled the coffee on yourself, you would not have had to change, and then I wouldn‘t have met you because you may have been long gone by now.” “So you see?” “It works out.” “I get to meet a beautiful woman, and you meet me, a charming friendly gentleman.”

A shared laugh is just the thing to get people better acquainted. Come to find out, she never went to the interview.

Angel Dust

I'm an indie author. The experiences I write about in my non fiction novel(s), although negative, cold hearted and harsh, helped me to achieve the strengths I have today.

CHAPTER 23 - As If It Didn’t Happen

No sooner than we pulled up at mom and dad’s house, it was as though I never left. The driveway was packed with cars again. Someone must have made a traveling call or 40. All it takes is getting the right information to that one gifted person and the word is out.

We all agreed to never discuss the past events. But there is no way for it not to appear periodically in my head. I’m sure we all thought and still do think about me, and what I’ve done in the last few weeks. Not to mention the entirety of it all in the last 4-6 years.

The random sex on public transportation with a stranger. The awkward activity between me and the female janitor at my high school. Steamy examination by the family gynecologist. Me performing sexual favors for my high school principal and eventually killing him. So much more, but the majority of my history has been about sex. A lot of it occurred before I was married. I wish I could erase those things or wish them away but they’re here. The only thing left for me to do, is better.

The crowd seemed very happy to see me and have me home. Well, at my parents home. I intend on leaving Chicago and going back home to New York with Harold as soon as possible. Speaking of Harold, he hasn’t said much. Just stares at me. Maybe he’s trying to get used to my inadvertent hair cut.

Everybody showed up with their food dishes and beverages so we could resume the welcome home Trixie celebrations that were taking place a few weeks ago. BUT mom knows I am pretty much NOT going to eat those people’s cooking. Yeah - No, I’m not the type to eat from everyone’s kitchen. So she give’s me a very tight hug and open’s the fridge.

I didn’t make her work too hard. I went for something simple. Fried Chicken, Cabbage, Macaroni and Cheese, Fried Apples and Buttermilk Biscuits. It may sound like a lot but mama could fix this with her eye’s half cocked and with 3 fingers missing. Yeah she has full use of both eyes and all her fingers, It’s just to let you know how good she is at cooking. I love you mom! "I love you back Trixie! I saw that look on your face. A piece of it says, wow
