I am a retired male nurse, married with three grown up sons, who have all left home to pursue their own interests in life. My wife and I moved from Toowoomba in south east Queensland in October 2015 to Brookfield a suburb in Brisbane Queensland (QLD). We made the move to be closer to family. In December 2018 we moved to Nundah Queensland to move even closer to family. Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland. Queensland is famous for the Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Brisbane is situated on the Brisbane River and is known as the 'River City'. It is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city. I am a Christian and I fellowship with like minded Christians. I enjoy writing, reading my Bible and Christian books. I tend to read non-fiction books in my spare time. My interests are my family, writing, bible study, beach walking, car touring, gospel preaching and bible teaching.

    About the Author

I am a retired male nurse, married with three sons, who have grown up and left home. I live with my wife at Innisfail in tropical North Queensland, Australia. The main agricultural crops of the region are sugar cane, bananas and paw paws. Innisfail is situated at the confluence of the Johnstone and South Johnstone rivers; adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef. The closest major city is Cairns about 88 km further north.

I am a committed Christian and I fellowship with like minded Christians at a Gospel Hall in Innisfail. I enjoy writing and reading my Bible and Christian books. I also enjoy reading other non-fiction books in my spare time, particularly biographies and autobiographies

    Preface

The following blog posts are the result of a personal exercise to comment on issues of life from a Biblical perspective. I make no apologies for getting to the 'nitty-gritty' of matters. There are many voices in the world today seeking to draw the attention of men and women away from the Creator God and the revelation of His dealings with mankind. Some of these matters may appear to be 'in your face'; but if they draw your attention to the truth in God's words in the Holy Bible then they will have achieved their purpose.

As you can see from the title this is Volume 2 which contains 30 different blog posts on a variety of subjects. This volume continues to explore issues of life from a Biblical perspective. My intention is to continue to publish further volumes as the blog posts roll out, over time. The blog posts are listed in the Table of Contents in the order they were originally published on the web. The reason for this is that some of the posts refer back to earlier posts. An alphabetical list of the posts is included at the end of the book for your convenience.

After you read a blog post take a few moments to reflect on what you have read before you move on to another blog post.

[All Scriptures quoted are from the New King James version; unless otherwise noted. Words enclosed in [ ] are inserted for clarity. Words in bold type emphasise a point. You may notice some verses are quoted with ... at the beginning, ending or elsewhere in a verse. Only the relevant part or parts of the verse, that relate directly to the current subject matter is quoted.]

    Eternity?

What do you think of when you hear, or read, the word eternity?

Is it a great endless expanse of time? Or, does it go beyond time?

Collins concise Dictionary defines eternity as:

    1. Endless or infinite time.

    2. The quality, state, or condition of being eternal.

    3. Any aspect of life and thought considered timeless.

    4. The timeless existence, believed by some to characterise the afterlife.

    5. A seemingly endless period of time.

From the above definitions we can clearly see that eternity is endless, infinite, eternal and timeless. If something is eternal it is unchanged by time.

You may say to me, I don’t believe in eternity. Your belief won’t alter the reality of eternity. Your belief won’t make it go away.

Eternity encapsulates time within itself, but time is not eternity! Eternity is not elongated time!

We live in a Space-Matter-Time universe; created by the true and living God, The Triune God [Father-Son-Holy Spirit].

Space consists of dimensions; length, breadth and height. Dimensions can’t exist by themselves; they need to be filled with matter.

Matter consists of energy, motion and phenomena. We recognise phenomena as light, sound, heat, cold, hardness, softness, colour, scent, moisture, dryness etc.

Time as we know it is future, present and past. Time proceeds from motion. When motion moves to successive locations, it creates time. Each successive move is later than the last. It takes time for each move.

What is the significance of time to us? We live continually in the present. Yesterday has already gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We live day by day. We have no guarantee that we will see the next sunrise.

Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2 states, "(1) To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under
