    Introduction

    The information in this book is intended to help alleviate pain while waiting to see a professional. In some cases the exercises can go along way to eliminating chronic issues, however, always consult your health specialist especially if your condition is one of acute pain. All the following exercises should be done with deliberate care as the most important point is to learn how the body functions and how it feels under specific conditions. When you do this you will then learn how to undo what caused the pain in the first place. This cannot be done rapidly. It takes time and careful attention to begin the process of unwinding, which is what causes most problems. Key words for the exercises in this book are: Gentle, Slow, Focused. Never go into pain, anticipate it and stop short and then return. You will find that repetition short of pain will gain greater range of motion. Perform the exercises throughout the day for short periods of one to two minutes. If you are tired, stop. If the exercise does not feel good, stop. If there is pain, stop.
