    May 18, 2009 I got my last relaxer and vowed that I would never let another one touch my hair. I was very attached to my hair and obsessed with retaining length when I first started the process of going natural; rather than doing what I discovered was called a big chop, I decided to transition long term and cut my hair later. After many highs and lows, tangles and knots, and learning to work with and accept my natural hair, I finally did the big chop 15 ½ months later.

    The journey to natural hair is just that…a journey. It’s filled with fun times, tough and stressful ones, moments of discovery and learning, and a huge amount of growth in the end.
