While Tee Morris began his writing career with Dragon Moon Press's 2002 historical epic fantasy Morevi: The Chronicles of Rafe and Askana, it is his podcast of that book and works such as Podcasting for Dummies and All a Twitter that have earned him the distinction as one of the pioneers of social media. With Phoenix Rising, Tee returns to where he prefers to be—his imagination. When he is not there, Tee lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his five cats and one daughter, all of whom have him very well-trained.

He filled the shovel one last time and gave a slight grunt as the mud plopped on top of the fresh mound. Gary slowly lowered the blade to the ground, and he leaned against the handle as he stared at the mound and waited.
He took another long, deep breath, the smell of freshly churned earth so thick in the air he could taste it. He then realized that some of it had in fact made it on his tongue. Gary swirled a small amount of saliva in his mouth and spit, careful not to make sure he didn’t hit her grave. Just in case.
Crickets were chirping away happily at one another. He could hear the sounds of frogs and foxes. Under the moonlight, the mound remained undisturbed.
This is it, he thought to himself, swallowing back a small knot welling in his throat. I’m done.
Gary wanted to wipe away the
