    Our Engagement Ring

You know what? It’s been 25 years since I’ve seen our engagement ring. Well, that’s not very observant, is it, and would be the logical question. But you see it’s been locked away in our safe for all those years because the ring became too small for my wife’s finger. Don’t ask me why, but I insisted she take it out the safe the other day because I wanted to have a look at it for sentimental reasons. Yes, that’s right, even a man can be sentimental at times. For the life of me I couldn’t remember what it looked like even though I gave it to her when we became engaged. Well I did give it to her, but to be honest my mother gave it to me to give to her, and that solved an awful lot of problems. But more about that later. Now my wife hates to take things out of the safe because its old fashioned which means you have to rotate a dial x times in a clockwise direction and y times in an anticlockwise direction to a specific number. I’ve tried to open it but I can’t; only she can. And then she has hidden the instructions to open it somewhere in the house and I don’t know where those are either. Anyhow
