Preface
My experience, of 12 years, in the Real Estate industry drove an interest in trying to find ways to bring to light what one should expect when buying a house. By and large, there is scanty if any information on the topic. And for many years the most preeminent sources of such information, even for us in the industry, has always been famous one topic pamphlets titled How to insure your home
not to mention others. Since there has been no significant movement towards availing such information much less any complete guide to buying a house, I took up a new challenge. I decided to write this book and make it affordable to everyone.
In the years that I have been working in Real Estate, I have been able to observe the progressive changes in the market; from the very traditional sales era where sellers had equity on their properties, so at closing they actually walked away with some leverage from the sale of their houses, to the declining prices of the market, and then, recently I was able to witness how prices hit rock bottom. However, I have never seen interest rates dip as low as the current ones we are having at the moment, perhaps this is the main reason why we, Realtors, are as busy as were a few years ago.
Prospective clients keep calling my office requesting for more and more information on the procedures as well as the logistics involved in the purchase of a house, even though every individual has diverse preferences and interests,
