Proven and Effective Paintball Tips to Enhance Your Game - Green Initiatives
Introduction
Hi, my name is Bryan Birch and I am a paintball fanatic. I both live and breathe for paintball (partly due to my military experience). Because of this, I've learned a lot of things over the years that can really help out with your paintball game, whether you are new to it or are experienced. I've gone through the experience of finding paintball sponsors, taking part in tournaments, finding teams and more. My goal is to help you better understand the sport, what it's about and how to enjoy the various aspects of it. To do this, I'm sharing all of my hard-learned lessons with you so you can learn what I have. By the end of this book you will know everything you need to be successful in this growing sport!

History of Paintball
Our first goal in this book is to learn more about the History of Paintball, our favorite sport (it's definitely mine, and I'm guessing yours too). Let's start by looking at where paintballing started and how it became the great sport it is today.
Paintball started in the early 1970's as a way to mark livestock and trees. It was not intended at that time to become a sport, nor a game people play. Later on, however, three people by the names of Charles Gaines, Hayes Noel, and Bob Gurnsey thought up a new way to use the paintball guns (as a sport to shoot each other). This is when paintball was born.
The 1980's (1981, to be exact) marks what could be considered as the most important year in the History of Paintball, in which the first recreational paintball game was played by a group of twelve friends. To do so, they used industrial paintball guns from the Nelson Paint Company and they played on a field that measured over 100 acres. At this point, there was also no safety equipment (such as masks).
This new growing sport was originally named The National Survival Game
because it reflects how it was first played. There were only two different game types at the time – free-for-all and group vs. group annihilation.
This also helped spark yet another growth spurt in the game of paintball, which is continuing on today. There are now many different paintball games to choose from, as well as different ways of playing them.
In 1982 the first of the Paintball Playing Fields opened, which was outdoors. Afterward, in 1984 the first of the Indoor Paintball Fields opened up. In between these, in 1983, was the first of the Paintball Tournaments. The total prizes at this point were worth $14,000, which was not bad for a still newly-developed sport. Today these prizes can get up to the hundreds of thousands of dollar mark!
Another important year in the History of Paintball is 1992, when the National Paintball Professional League (known as NPPL) was founded. Paintball is now viewed as a full-fledged sport and is still continuing to grow with new additions in terms of Paintball Gear and new rules.
Hopefully this has helped you learn a little more about the sport of paintball and how fast it has grown. It is amazing to look at how advanced it is, yet it did not even really start until the early 1980's.
Paintball History is very important for any true paintball player. It is amazing how many players still do not know much about paintball history. I find it extremely important because it helps learn about the changes that have happened in the past, as well as understanding more about the game in general. Knowing this information helps allow you to appreciate the sport even more than you did previously.
First of all, paintball is still a fairly new game. The game first started in 1981 using a pistol called the Nelspot 007.
This was a weapon used by farmers for marking trees with. Loading paintballs into it and then firing at each other, Hayes Noel, Charles Gaines and Bob Gurnsey were the first ones to have a paintball game. They did so with a total of 12 players and their game of choice was Capture the Flag.
Capture the Flag is still one of the most popular (if not the most popular) paintball games of today.
Fast forward a little bit and now people have created the first of the Paintball Tournaments. This happened in our paintball history in the 1990's and carries on today. Now there are many different tournaments to choose from, including many worldwide professional ones with very nice rewards (not including the fame you obtain from winning one!).
Also, as time has gone along more and more paintball guns have become available, such as army paintball guns. At this point there are not only pistols but also rifles, sniper rifles, bazookas, and fully automatic weapons that replicate the army tactical paintball guns. You can even emulate the real world using grenades, mines, and grenade launchers now!
As you can see from the paintball history, the game has gone a very long way in a short period of time. Even today the game is constantly being enhanced with new games, new rules, new locations, new tournaments, and even more importantly, new weapons. You can expect the game to keep growing well into the future due to the nature of it.
The main reason the sport has exploded the way it has is due to how realistic, yet safe it is (if, of course, you are following all of the safety precautions and rules). This allows people to have a real team-based game with a lot of strategy involved, while also getting out the war side of us.

History of Paintball Guns
When it comes to the History of Paintball Guns, there is a lot to take in. Much like a lot of other things (such as technology) once it got popular it exploded to the point where it has progressed and evolved at a very fast rate. As a direct response to this, weapons got more powerful (not in terms of how hard they hit) and accurate, as well as much better situated in terms of their rate of fire and ease of use. As time goes along, the weapons keep getting better and better with more features.
As for myself, I clearly remember back when paintball guns had to be cocked before every shot. This caused a huge hassle because it was extremely hard to keep shooting when you had to deal with the cocking all of the time. Later on, it became semi-automatics (such as the first, which was the auto mag paintball marker) where you had to cock them before each air cartridge (more or less if the air ran out, you would have to replace it and re-cock the rifle before being able to use it again).
Along with this, they used to have only manual loaders, which although they worked (sometimes), they would also get jammed quite often. With a semi-automatic paintball gun you had to be careful because if you shot too fast, without giving the paintball time to drop down into the chamber, you would blow it up by only shooting half of it.
Issues like the above are all obsolete now. They are all part of the history of paintball guns but are no longer present (at least not as prominent as before). Now we have tons of different weapons, as well as more effective ways of using them. For example, we now have Paintball Bazookas and Paintball Grenades. Both of these are excellent additions to the paintball arsenal because they have splash effects. We also have the Paintball Sniper rifles now, which allow much better precision while shooting (although still not as good as a real sniper rifle). Probably the best upgrade that has been made so far is the addition of fully Automatic Paintball Guns. These are things we could have only dreamed about years ago. Higher end weapons have also become available like the Impulse paintball marker.
Now that you understand the history of paintball guns, it should open your eyes to how much they have evolved over the years. Maybe later on we will come out with a whole new type of paintball weaponry!

How to Play Paintball
So you want to learn How to Play Paintball, huh? If you are like me you got into playing with paintball guns before you even knew there was a sport. When I first started, I enjoyed just running around and shooting (such as target practice). I'm not quite sure if the enjoyment was more from the paint splatter or from the fact I was able to shoot a real gun that was not as dangerous as, say, a BB gun, but the fun was definitely there.
When it comes to learning How to Play Paintball, there is a lot of stuff to learn. First of all, you need to learn about the various weaponry. These include weapons such as bazookas, automatic paintball guns, mines, the Sniper Paintball Rifle, and more. Once this is done you will want to spend some time reading about the Paintball Rules as well as Paintball Courses. These will help you better understand what playing the sport is like when you are with other players. After-all, it is very different running around with other players with a common goal when compared to being alone and just shooting at whatever you can find.
When you have a better understanding of what is expected during paintball games you will want to decide whether or not you would like to compete with others. If you do end up taking this route, there are plenty of different Paintball Teams you can find in directories online or at local paintball shops. By joining one of these teams you will find others who are like you in interests and strategy and you can learn how to be a more competitive player. As you all get better, you can even start going into tournaments to compete against other teams, as well as win prizes for doing so!
Overall if you want to learn How to Play Paintball, it is to find your own likes and dislikes. There is no way for anyone to tell you what kind of play style you would be best at, which weapons you would like the most, or even what teams you would fit best in. By following the steps listed above, however, you can help yourself to making the most informed decision possible. Maybe one day I will see you out there in a tournament!

Paintball Rules – Deciding What is Best
Choosing good Paintball Rules can be hard. The various Paintball Games have a very open feel to them, allowing you to customize them as you see fit. You can choose to play one of the already existing games or you can create your own variation. You can even take it a step further and create a whole new game! One very important aspect of the games is just how little your change of Paintball Rules can be. For example, let us look at King of the Hill Paintball:
The goal in King of the Hill is to take over a specified area. This is also where the first part of rule-making comes from. Which area should be chosen? How long does the area need to be captured for? How many people must be in the area to consider it captured? All of these questions are different depending on where you are playing your paintball game at. For example, the difference in size between Indoor Paintball Fields and outdoor Paintball Courses will often cause the areas to capture to be different sizes due to space limitations brought about by each type. In deciding the number of players who must capture an area, you would first need to know how many are even playing, and then make a judgment based on that. For example, if you have 8 players with 4 on each team, expecting all 4 to capture an area at the same time may be a little far-fetched, depending on the group and how difficult you wish to make the game. In terms of how long the area must be captured before being classified as owned,
you must decide on how much time should be spent on each game. The longer the capture timer, the longer the game will last.
As you can see, even in a pre-made game there are many different variables in the Paintball
