About this ebook
For a time in their dating-wars romance, she seemed too good to be true—bright, witty, gorgeous and erotic. Finally when it became clear that she was real—and adored him—there was just this one little problem.
This is one of T.V. LoCicero’s shorter works published as an ebook. The others include the stories A Round with J.C., Fixed, The Jungle Plant, and The Visit. He has also published the short memoir Selling the Bison and the memoir/essay, The Lessons of Sport. His longer works include the non-fiction books Murder in the Synagogue and Squelched: The Suppression of Murder in the Synagogue, as well as the novels The Obsession and The Disappearance.

About what he calls his “checkered past,” LoCicero says: “At one time or another I've found work as an industrial spy; a producer of concert videos for Rolling Stone's greatest singer of all time; one of the few male contributors to Gloria Steinem's Ms. Magazine; a writer of an appellate brief for those convicted in one of Detroit's most sensational drug trials; the author of a true crime book that garnered a bigger advance than a top ten best-selling American novel; a project coordinator/fundraiser for a humanities council; a small business owner; the writer/producer/director of numerous long-form documentaries; a golf course clerk; a college instructor who taught courses in advanced composition, music and poetry appreciation, introduction to philosophy, remedial English, and American Literature--all in the same term; a ghostwriter; a maker of corporate/industrial videos; a member of a highway surveying crew; a speechwriter for auto executives; a TV producer of live event specials; an editorial writer; the creator of 15-second corporate promos for the PBS series Nature; and a novelist. “There is a sense in which that last occupation was the reason for all the others. Almost anyone who's ever tried to make ends meet as a novelist knows what I'm talking about.”

Shrunk
Lovely and alone she graced a stool in the raucous stir of striving lonely-hearts, her fitted light blue knit top and tight white slacks a few inches in front of Paul. A delicate blond wisp had somehow escaped her neatly arranged bun. It seemed touching, haunting, possibly unforgettable.
I think I'm in love with the nape of your neck.
She turned two wide limpid blue eyes on him to say, You're exactly the fourth person in the past two weeks who's told me that.
No smile. The face in full view was stunning as was the line of that pert breast as she turned. Perhaps the hint of an accent kept her voice from being entirely unfriendly.
Yes,
he said, but I'll bet I'm the only one who's meant it.
