    Closing Prayer

    About The Author

    Opening Prayer

    Heavenly Father,

    Thank you for the blessing of the woman I love.

    Let me always put her needs and desires ahead of mine.

    What a wonder it is

    to express the love, romance, and sweet desire

    that unites two hearts.

    Help me to store up these desires for her pleasure.

    I have love songs, created with kisses, to present to her.

    May I always appreciate

    the tenderness of her cheeks,

    the softness of her lips,

    and the sweetness of her tongue

    to enrich our love.

    Bless our love with your love.

    In Jesus’ name. Amen.

    Psalm 119:9-11

    ⁹How can a young man keep his way pure?

    By living according to your word.

    ¹⁰I seek you with all my heart;

    do not let me stray from your commands.

    ¹¹I have hidden your word in my heart

    that I might not sin against you.

    Psalm 139:13-14

    ¹³For you created my inmost being;

    you knit me together in my mother's womb.

    ¹⁴I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

    your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

    Love's Words

    Proverbs 3:5-6

    ⁵Trust in the Lord with all your heart

    and lean not on your own understanding;

    ⁶in all your ways acknowledge him,

    and he will make your paths straight.

    Proverbs 15:13, 15

    ¹³A happy heart makes the face cheerful,

    but heartache crushes the spirit.

    ¹⁵All the days of the oppressed are wretched,

    but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.

    Proverbs 16:24

    ²⁴Pleasant words are a honeycomb,

    sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

    Proverbs 24:26

    ²⁶An honest answer

    is like a kiss on the lips.

    Love's Words

    Proverbs 31:10

    ¹⁰A wife of noble character who can find?

    She is worth far more than rubies.

    Proverbs 31:30

    ³⁰Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;

    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

    Song of Songs 4:3

    ³Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon;

    Your mouth is lovely.

    Song of Songs 4:11

    ¹¹Your lips drop sweetness as the honeycomb, my bride;

    milk and honey are under your tongue.

    Love's Words

    Isaiah 33:6

    ⁶He will be the sure foundation for your times,

    a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge;

    the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.

    Malachi 3:10

    ¹⁰"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse,

    that there may be food in my house.

    Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty,

    "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven

    and pour out so much blessing

    that you will not have room enough for it."

    Love's Words

    John 15:12-14

    ¹²My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

    ¹³Greater love has no one than this,

    that he lay down his life for his friends.

    ¹⁴You are my friends if you do what I command.

    Romans 8:28

    ²⁸And we know that in all things

    God works for the good of those who love him,

    who have been called according to his purpose.

    Love's Words

    Romans 8:35, 37-39

    ³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

    Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine

    or nakedness or danger or sword?

    ³⁷No, in all these things

    we are more than conquerors

    through him who loved us.

    ³⁸For I am convinced that neither death nor life,

    neither angels nor demons,

    neither the present nor the future,

    nor any powers,

    ³⁹neither height nor depth,

    nor anything else in all creation,

    will be able to separate us from the love of God

    that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    Love's Words

    Romans 13:8

    ⁸Let no debt remain outstanding,

    except the continuing debt to love one another,

    for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law.

    1 Corinthians 13:1-5

    ¹If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,

    but have not love,

    I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

    ²If I have the gift of prophecy

    and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge,

    and if I have a faith that can move mountains,

    but have not love, I am nothing.

    ³If I give all I possess to the poor

    and surrender my body to the flames,

    but have not love, I gain nothing.

    ⁴Love is patient, love is kind.

    It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

    ⁵It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,

    it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

    Love's Words

    1 Corinthians 13:6-12

    ⁶Love does not delight in evil

    but rejoices with the truth.

    ⁷It always protects, always trusts,

    always hopes, always perseveres.

    ⁸Love never fails.

    But where there are prophecies, they will cease;

    where there are tongues, they will be stilled;

    where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

    ⁹For we know in part and we prophesy in part,

    ¹⁰but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

    ¹¹When I was a child, I talked like a child,

    I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.

    When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

    ¹²Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror;

    then we shall see face to face.

    Now I know in part;

    then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

    Love's Words

    1 Corinthians 13:13

    ¹³And now these three remain:

    faith, hope and love.

    But the greatest of these is love.

    Ephesians 5:18-21

    ¹⁸Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.

    Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

    ¹⁹Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.

    Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,

    ²⁰always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,

    in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    ²¹Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

    Love's Words

    Ephesians 5:25-29

    ²⁵Husbands, love your wives,

    just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

    ²⁶to make her holy,

    cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,

    ²⁷and to present her to himself as a radiant church,

    without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish,

    but holy and blameless.

    ²⁸In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives

    as their own bodies.

    He who loves his wife loves himself.

    ²⁹After all, no one ever hated his own body,

    but he feeds and cares for it,

    just as Christ does the church --

    Love's Words

    Colossians 3:16-17

    ¹⁶Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly

    as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,

    and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs

    with gratitude in your hearts to God.

    ¹⁷And whatever you do, whether in word or deed,

    do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,

    giving thanks to God the Father through him.

    1 Timothy 5:1-2

    ¹Do not rebuke an older man harshly,

    but exhort him as if he were your father.

    Treat younger men as brothers,

    ²older women as mothers,

    and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

    Hebrews 13:4

    ⁴Marriage should be honored by all,

    and the marriage bed kept pure,

    for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

    Love's Words

    1 Peter 3:1-5

    ¹Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands

    so that, if any of them do not believe the word,

    they may be won over without words

    by the behavior of their wives,

    ²when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

    ³Your beauty should not come from outward adornment,

    such as braided hair

    and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.

    ⁴Instead, it should be that of your inner self,

    the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit,

    which is of great worth in God's sight.

    ⁵For this is the way the holy women of the past

    who put their hope in God

    used to make themselves beautiful.

    They were submissive to their own husbands,

    Love's Words

    1 John 4:7

    ⁷Dear friends, let us love one another,

    for love comes from God.

    1 John 4:9-10

    ⁹This is how God showed his love among us:

    He sent his one and only Son into the world

    that we might live through him.

    ¹⁰This is love:

    Not that we loved God,

    but that he loved us

    and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

    1 John 4:16

    ¹⁶God is love.

    Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

    1 John 4:18-19

    ¹⁸There is no fear in love.

    But perfect love drives out fear,

    ¹⁹We love because he first loved us.
