      INTRODUCTION

      Why write a continuing education course for massage therapists about spas? According to the International SPA Association (ISPA, www.experienceispa.com), spas in the United States alone are a $12.3 billion dollar industry, and according to a report released by the Global Spa Summit (USA Day Spa Market 2010, www.globalspasummit.org), half of all spa treatment revenue in the United States comes from massage services. We’re talking about a lot of massages (and massage therapists) here.
