    Introduction

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED... if all the wonderful promises that we read about in the Bible regarding how God wants us to live abundantly are true, then how come so many dedicated, God-loving Christian believers struggle to get by financially?

If you have wondered about this, you’re not alone. For many years I struggled, secretly debating this question as I tried to make sense out of it. In fact there were times that I even questioned the validity of this whole God-worshipping endeavor because, quite frankly, in my mind it wasn’t making much sense. How could all these folks who, as far as I could tell, were as dedicated as a Christian could be, barely be getting by financially?

I read some Christian prosperity books, watched some DVDs, and listened to a lot of talk on the subject – but for the most part, the material I saw seemed to look at things from the standpoint of what God is capable of doing: blessing us with financial abundance. However, my question went unanswered. Why did all these folks, who I considered to be pure believers, not have lots of money? I was thinking God must know these people and their level of dedication. So why the lack, often to such an acute degree, in their lives?

Well, I am happy to report that God led me to the truth, which, by the way, had always been in front of me in the Bible. And it’s simply this: We are each in charge of whether we have abundant financial resources to live the life that God created us all to experience or we end up living on the edge, constantly struggling and barely making ends meet.

In other words, the kind of financial lifestyle you end up with is dependent on the choices you make. Pardon me if this next statement stings a little, but it’s also true: Where you are today financially is a result of the choices you have made in the past. The things we have done and/or failed to do with our financial resources are what have gotten us to where we are today.

In essence, the general theme and message that I hope to share through this book is that you have more to do with the financial outcomes that you end up experiencing than anyone else. No other human being can just speak a prophetic word or lay hands on you and move you from not having enough money to having abundance if you fail to do certain things that only
