    Christobel Kent was born in London and grew up in London and Essex, including a stint on the Essex coast on a Thames barge with three siblings and four step-siblings, before reading English at Cambridge. She has worked in publishing and TEFL teaching, and has lived in Modena, in northern Italy, and in Florence. She has written several novels set in Italy, including The Drowning River and A Murder in Tuscany, and lives in Cambridge with her husband and five children.

      My first book by this author. Loved the setting in Florence. Lots of characters that are interwoven by the book's finish. Could feel the heat and the humidity of August as I read.

      In Kent’s mystery novel, former police officer turned private investigator Sandro Cellini suspects that the body found hidden in the bushes is related to his current case. A young, pregnant woman has approached him desperately wanting help finding her missing fiancé. In the meantime, bank teller Roxana is concerned over the unexplained absence of one of her regular customers and before long finds herself embroiled in something far darker than she ever imagined. Sandro has no choice but to pursue the homicide regardless the cost.A great addition to the A Mystery in Florence series.
