Since 1994 he has worked in public education, as a teacher, administrator and university professor. A writer of young adult fiction, Latino-themed magical realism and politically speculative science fiction, Bowles has launched his D'Angelo Chronicles through VAO Publishing, a division of Valley Artistic Outreach.
