He has treated HIV patients in a day when no standard therapies were available, as well as patients with “mysterious illnesses” such as chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. He has also traveled extensively and been exposed to other cultures and their tribal rules. These experiences have led him to think outside the box after being raised in a very inside-the-box environment.
