My father passed away when I had just turned twenty-one, and I realised I knew very little about him having been far too busy with my own life to ask, or have an adult conversation with him. My first book was an account (135,000 words) of growing up in my small home town during my first eleven years of life.
I followed this a few years later with a continuing account of my life (146,000 words) which takes the reader up to the time my father died. I wrote both books because I rather liked the thought of my great-great- grandchildren reading an account of some of the fun, and not-so-fun things I got up to.
Neither of these has been published as I deem them personal to my family, but who knows, perhaps someone will publish them many years from now.
I've recently taken the chapters covering my early schooling in England (1956 - 1963) from my unpublished book 'Right up my Street', and re-written them to upload to Smashwords. The title of the book is: 'Memoirs of a Mischievous Schoolboy'
I’ve caught the ‘writing-bug’ and enjoy writing novels for Young Adults, though I'm told my first three ebooks have been enjoyed by an older generation.
I'm currently working on a comedy/fantasy aimed at Young Adults and above.
I hope you enjoy reading 'The White Pond', 'The Church Ghost',and 'Memoirs of a Mischievous Schoolboy' too.
Best Wishes, Alec.view less
