Her very talented craftsman father took her under his wing and together they examined and created many things. His workshop was also Pat’s on the weekends, where they did science experiments with dangerous chemicals, constructed things with wood and plastics, and watched moths hatch from cocoons. Their travels around the United States and Canada helped open Pat’s mind and allowed her to become a better observer. The two always stopped at science, art, and history museums, and Pat is so grateful for those experiences. She has always had a sewing machine, but it lived in a closet, idle for years. About twelve years ago, Pat made her first quilt, and she has yet to stop.view less
