The writing is fun and the characters are engaging. As many have said, narrator was rather weak; mispronounced words were very common which seems crazy to me. That's literally your job! Anyway, ending was rushed but I really did enjoy the story.

The narrator has nonstandard pronunciation of a number of words but it was her male voices that detracted from the story for me. The author is good. Story was engaging.

Pretty much perfect! Great plot, wonderful characters, satisfying one very way. Funny, writing, great pacing, just the right amount of detail, sweet, hot hero, relatable heroine, great villains, and a truly excellent reader. A real pro, so good I was rarely aware of her except to be grateful that she was so good, since so many good books are ruined by bad or poorly matched readers.

If I could leave less than a star I would. Like was mentioned several times, sooo many mispronounced words!! When she said Brum-EL’ for Brummell, that nearly did it. But when the description of the kissing scene reaches nearly soft porn, I was done. As one reviewer said, this AUTHOR is NOT for me!!!

This initially started as a typical “poor girl” needs to marry for money. The author expanded the premise with a plucky heroine, damaged hero and food and loyal friends. There was humour and many twists for an enjoyable story. Excellent narration

Narrator is incapable of pronouncing English. Viscount has a silent s. That’s just one of many she gets wrong. It’s intensely annoying and detracts from the story.

While I don't have high expectations for great literary feats in this genre I at least expect character and story development. The main characters meet three times, barely talk and they are completely in love. The male character was not developed at all. Some intrigue was introduced but the threads were just dropped.

    Inane and lacking in facts.
When describing a a horse the MFC is about to ride, the author called a 14 hand tall horse as being large. 14 hands is a pony. Also, Cleveland Bay horse is truly tall breed with the average height being 16 hands. The author also interchanged the gender of the same horse between a gelding (castrated male equine) and stallion which is an intact male horse. The Era of this book would never allow a young woman to ride a stallion in town.

Sometimes she's yelling a bit too much into the microphone and the voices aren't easy to tell apart. It takes away from being able to focus on the story.

Slow, too much drivel. When sensual scenes appeared it seem to happen in an inopportune time. Hero was fairly rough and unsure why he wrote strategies of war books when he never was a soldier in anyway. Too many characters which confused me as to who was who most of the time (I thought Miss Tint and Sara were the same person and it would’ve been enough that they were just). I listened to the book so the narrator may have made it more annoying. I kept going back to the reader version when I kept skipping the sensual parts. Singular Lady seems like a poor version of Lady Whistledown. Like another reviewer, the story ended abruptly and did not explain who struck the Hero’s father. Would have made sense that they use the secret hiding places of the home at least!

Great story! But the narration wasn’t so great. The ladies voice was annoying! Too high-pitched and squeaky

This one is hard to listen to. Character voices are sometimes so character-y it seems she lives in a bizarre world of crazy talkers. Realize that it must be difficult to create realistic character voices that are different enough so the audience can easiliy follow the dialogue.

The supporting characters crossed over to irritating instead of charmingly annoying. Which again, may be partially about vocal choices. :( sorry. sorry. sorry.

The editing on this audiobook has not been checked. Multiple times throughout the reading the narrator repeats sections that have obviously been left in by mistake.

Super cute. I just wished it were longer :). I had some unanswered questions at the end, and Titania, Edwin, and all the rest of the characters were all so charming and funny, I would have gladly continued to read a lot more about them.
