An enjoyable story with a cast of interesting characters, but the narrator’s mispronounciation of Malay words was extremely grating, as was the way she spoke the dialogue written in Malaysian-English vernacular.
The thing about novellas is that when they're written so well you want them to be longer. :(
Excellent from start to finish from top to bottom. The narration by Nancy Wu is spectacular, she is so engaging and entertaining. The story is gripping and fun. I love the witty funny dialogues the most. Also we love queer characters in ownvoices Asian-inspired fantasy stories.
