The story was interesting. It shows the challenges of being different and choosing to be different. It well portrays the midlife crisis, and I enjoyed how the author weaves a personal life story to the history of the city, how people belong and why they stayed. The only thing that I dislike about this book was that I find the author sometimes preaching, and when it comes to women, he seems to be mansplaining specifically about sexual assault and rape.
