About this audiobook

Mabel "Maybe" Willis died a virgin at the very young age of twenty-four. She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime. Cause of death: a text message.

Okay. So, I didn't die. But I may as well have. One minute, I'm a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I'm the sender of six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time-or the cell phone. Whatever.

We're talking code red, send a flipping mayday, the apocalypse is coming kind of texts. And I didn't just send them to some random person I'll never see again. No. That would be too easy.

I sent them to Milo Ives. The man who played a starring role in all of my teenage fantasies-and my brother's lifelong best friend. And, boy oh boy, has he grown up. He's hard-bodied, blue-eyed, jawline-of-stone handsome, crazy successful, and has more money in his bank account than my brain can fathom.

Deflower me, please? I said.

Yeah. Send help.

Contains mature themes.

    3.5 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 2 - 3.5 Stars
If significant, why? The cringe comedy is a bit too much at times.

    Normal to Descriptive 3-5
    Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? No

The back story... The h is working at her parent's flower shop after graduating college and applying for jobs in her field when the H walks in to purchase flowers. He hasn't seen her in several years and doesn't recognize her. To add insult to injury, he is her brother's best friend and business partner.

The Romance... At times, very cringe inducing but it does develop through a lusty relationship. He fights it in deference to her brother but loses the battle.

The drama explosion... He stops and wants to wait but doesn't mansplain why and she takes it wrong.
Did it feel Real, OK or contrived? A bit contrived.
    Was it OTT? Yes
    Separation involved? Yes
Was it resolved properly or rushed? Properly

Final Notes... OK. The H calls the h KID way too much and it was a bit creepy. There are a bit too many of the cringe scenes but that is what the skip forward button is good for. I enjoyed the story overall.

This was a really great story (not a lot of heat but enough) with excellent dual narration.

It was ok. Quite funny at times. For a book like this to be really good, I need to be left with no uncertainty whatsoever as to why these two individuals liked eachother so much and why they were perfect for one another. Here, I felt it was more declared that they were, than felt. So somewhat hollow.

This was such a great book. I loved how Maybe turned her embarrassing situation to her advantage and that Milo played right into it. It was sweet yet had great comedic timing in to lighten what could have been otherwise cringe-worthy embarrassment...lol! Their undeniable chemistry and ultimate passion was palpable. Loved all the other characters that had their starring roles from the other books tied into this. I am definitely hooked on Max Monroe's books and talent as a writer/author. Also, I absolutely love Elizabeth Hart and Nelson Hobbs as the Narrator's for this audiobook. They were absolutely perfect as Maybe and Milo as well as lending voices to other characters which helped bring this book to life.

Nice and sweet. A lot of funny moments. The flow of the story was very natural.

Hilarious. Five stars. Side note: slow burn. We've all been there where we have a school crush that takes up a lot of real estate in your brain. Imagine you get to speak with them now, how would you react? Yeah, I thought so. Probably cool as a cucumber. Not in this book. When MM goes somewhere with a thought process, they run that thought completely over the cliff with concepts that are so freaking outrageous, you'll be in tears from laughing. The heroine is my type of woman. She's an introvert who loves to read and stays mostly to herself. She's awkward in social settings and sometimes the things in her head make themselves known verbally. The hero is written to where you can almost hear angels singing when he has an appearance??????. He's an alpha male and he tries his hardest not to pursue his best friend's sister, but she's not the same little girl that used to follow them around when they were kids. I honestly had more fun listening to her parents in the flower shop. The banter has me in stitches. And the "bruceisms" were hilarious. MM really did an awesome job with this book because she focused more on the friendships and didn't just jump right in with an insta romance and so it felt real. I loved this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
