      No HEA here. All the feels backstory of Scarlett (Claire) and Billy. I Love the mysterious Billy even more after this book.

      The book is great, like all of Mrs Reid’s, but I feel sucker punched by it. I wish I had been warned that the theme was so heavy. I loved all the serious underlying themes so far, but this one hit too close to home and sort of disturbed me. It’s not a light “reading”.

      Loved it ! Ad all Winston Brothers stories ,but this one makes you feel, a lot. If you love this world ,you need this story to complete the characters motivations.

      The whole series is wonderful. The reader becomes another thread in the Winston family tapestry...laughing when they laugh, hurting when they hurt, loving when they love, and pondering life through their thoughts and perceptions. The poetry and quotes Interspersed throughout the story telling used as both foreshadow and reflection add to the beauty and power of the books. Did I say the series was wonderful? I certainly should have.

      My favorite of the Beard series! Maybe it’s because I’ve read all the others (and maybe it wouldn’t be as good if you haven’t) but this one was heart warming and heart wrenching.

      I need the rest! I didn't think I was going to enjoy it as much as Cletus story, but damn! I want to hear the rest. Where do they go from here? Can Billy and Scarlet find their HEA?

      Gah! My HEART. I think this was necessary reading for the next book, which I’m going to start RIGHT NOW. What a beautiful and bittersweet story. I loved seeing what everyone was like when they were young and how events shaped who they become. Loved it!

      Heart renchingly beautiful. So well written, and helps create a clear picture of the Beard with me series and storyline. You will fall in love with the characters even at a young age.
