About this audiobook

What does dating the boss + meddling ex-wife + most adorable three-year-old ever equal? Trouble in Loveland.

At seventeen, Charlee Jensen packed her bags and left her beloved hometown of Loveland, swearing she would never have anything to do with the men that left her heartbroken: her father, the man who taught her heroes can fall; and Ryan Carter, her much older neighbor and teenage crush.

Now eight years later, Charlee has two degrees she never wanted and no job prospects, forcing her to swallow her pride and come home to work for her father's accounting firm-the same firm where newly divorced Ryan Carter is now a partner.

But trouble starts to stir when Ryan realizes the girl next door is all grown up and completely smitten with his adorable three-year-old. Ryan finds it hard to resist his beautiful, yet annoyingly charming neighbor and coworker, but is torn between his feelings and trying to keep the peace with his ex-wife, the mother of his child. It's a recipe for trouble. Will Charlee and Ryan find the formula for success?

I love Jennifer Peel - her writing pulls me in and sends me through every emotion. I laughed out loud, I got teary-eyed, I oohed and aahed, I stayed up way too late reading. I loved Charlee and her story. I loved the secondary characters. But most of all..... I LOVED THE SETTING!! Oh my goodness, I've never read a book based in my own home before. Okay, I'm from Ft. Collins and not Loveland, but it still counts because they went to Ft. Collins a lot, and I shop in Loveland. How many times have I gone to the Chili's that was talked about? CSU campus? Even down to highways and streets. Very cool. I shared Charlee's love of the blue skies and the views of the mountains and the feel of the air. HOWEVER:There were tons of editing mistakes in this book. It was like some editor did a good job at the beginning and then just started skimming. Tenses were wrong, grammar was off, and actual words were incorrect. "Plutonic" instead of "platonic"?! Sheesh. And I didn't buy the ending. (The author emailed me to thank me for catching the typo and had it changed in the Kindle edition.)But definitely read this book because, at least for me, the good outweighed the bad. I still have a couple of Jennifer Peel books I haven't read, but I think I'll pace myself since I tend to rip through them so quickly and forget about all my other responsibilities. (It is a pretty clean read with quite a bit of kissing. There are a couple of cuss words, talk of "hooker" shoes and looking like you should be walking down Colfax Avenue and a few other things along those lines.)
