    Jayla Anthony had it all.

      Good read. Some character issues but the story was comical

      It was good and continued from the first book. What I didn't like was there was no accountability of Jayla leftover baggage and insecurities. Which was the cause of their brief parting in the first place. Why did it all have to be Khalid's fault. By my perception he didn't really do anything wrong. The dinner with her mother seeing her ex planted the toxic seed that lead her misunderstanding of where Khalid's where abouts the night before. Not to mention she didn't communicate what was going on. That turned me off towards the end. Him showing up and apologizing like he was the sole cause was B.S. but I guess she had to hurry up and finish to book. It fell flat for me in the end. But over all entertaining.

      Khalid was everything Jaylah didn't know she needed. I enjoyed experiencing a book where Jaylah, the leading woman was financially stable and successful on her own and wasn't portrayed as a damsel in distress needing to be financially "rescued". Additionally, even though Khalid was re-establishing his stability in life he had other redeeming qualities which proves that money isn't the end all be all. An honest man who makes his intentions clear is priceless. I enjoyed the book overall but I don't think that Leon's voice was best suited to the description of Khalid and would recommend reading a physical copy instead.
