About this audiobook

Repeat after me: stay away from the hot girl.

The beautiful girl.

The f**king ray of sunshine in the middle of your delivery route.

Layla Barros is everything I never knew I wanted. Everything I'll never have.

She's an innocent young student. I'm a convicted felon.

She's rich girl from a nice family. I've got nothing but a broken home.

But if I'm an addict, she's my drug. I can't stay away, even though I know I'll ruin her in the end.

She might be the girl of my dreams, but I was always a bad idea.

Contains mature themes.

Loved it! I was crying for the last 2 chapters but I think they needed their time apart. Can't wait to start book #2.

It has sizzling connections with heartfelt emotion and lots intrigue and action. This book hit all the marks for a good detective story and a hot new romance. It is a terrific opening book for the series I really loved the awesome characters that we were introduced to. Many of the new detectives have lots of character to explore...and I understand that the author will carry their stories into future books. In this one we meet Gaberial “Fox” Morrison and Jonah Brightly who are really something together, The author has created a compelling story-line with a surprising bad guy and lots of twists and turns along the way. The complexity of the story was satisfying and the development of the other detectives set me up for wanting more of this series. I cannot wait for where these stories take us next.

I really liked the location of this mystery/romance, Miami is an unusual setting for a detective novel. The romance was a really good setup with well-defined characters that made sense. Would have liked a bit more emphasis on the mystery part, but the premise was good and the bad guy was a surprise. Already started the next installment through the preview at the end of the book, I may even like the second in the series better than the first.
