About this audiobook

The moment I looked into his eyes, I knew I was in trouble. The second I heard his name, I knew I should stay away.

Our fathers were enemies - Chicago crime bosses from rival families. But that didn’t stop Leo Conti from wanting me.

Being together was dangerous, reckless, and totally hot. What could possibly go wrong?

This one wasn't my favourite book by Chelle. It had a surprise pregnancy trope which is never a win for me and the characters kept mentioning why they shouldn't be together but in a way which was too obvious.

It had all the right ingredients to be a book that I would have enjoyed with the tropes that were thrown in, apart from the pregnancy trope. Leo had great characteristics and really fed into the forbidden love. Daphne is a strong-minded heroine and she comes from a family full of boys so she is the treasure that everyone needs to protect. They never wanted her to end up with Leo, the son of their enemy.

Leo and Daphne's families are very odd characters all with quirks, some I can't seem to wrap my head around. Their fathers back and forth bickering started to become more of an annoyance near the end when it was most likely supposed to be humorous.

This story reminded me of Romeo & Juliet / West Side Story, but without the tragedy and a much happier ever after.
