About this audiobook

Lord Thornby has been trapped on his father's isolated Yorkshire estate for a year. There are no bars or chains; he simply can't leave. His sanity is starting to fray.

When industrial magician John Blake arrives to investigate a case of witchcraft, he finds the peculiar, arrogant Thornby as alarming as he is attractive. John soon finds himself caught up in a dark fairy tale, where all the rules of magic-and love-are changed.

To set Thornby free, both men must face life-changing truths-and John must accept that the brave, witty man who's winning his heart may also be about to break it. Can they escape a web of magic that's as perilous as love?

Mysterious, compelling, and sexy. An intriguing story! I truly had no idea where it was going - the mystery hooked me from the start. The careful attention to adding details of the time period was expertly done, and the soft descriptions about the fantastical elements made me want to know more and more. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book, and I always love listening to Joel narrate.

This was a great book with all the guessing and all the feels.
John Blake comes to Rasclaf Hall (forgive the spelling, I listened to the audio book) thinking Lord Thornby is the villain of the story, but then vows to get to the bottom of Thornsby’s curse.

There was mystery, magic, and sexy times. The characters all had depth. . . Well maybe not Dalton’s henchman.

    Loved this book!

I listened to the audio. Very good narration.

This was absolutely beautiful. I love the story, I loved the suspense. I would recommend this to everybody and I want to re-read this in another six weeks. I also want to marry the narrator just so I can hear him talk to me ??

Meio bizarro, mas legal. Valeu a pena mas vou precisar ler com meus olhos algumas partes pois acho que deixei passar.

I enjoyed this. It reminded me of K.J. Charles' Magpie Lords series, especially the first book. The characters grew on me as they went along. And I'll probably look for other books by this new-to-me author.

Super fun and addictive. Really makes you care for the two main characters.

Honestly though, a tad predictable and not in a way I like... And also...

I'm over fae. Really, I don't enjoy fantasy that borrows from myth right now.

3.5 rounded up because any book that makes me read it in a day is a winner right now.

Much better than I thought it would be. The characters are engaging and likeable, the world-building is consistent, and the writing quality is decent.
