About this audiobook

Tessa was prepared for the hurricane. Lindsey was the storm she didn’t see coming.

When Tessa Taylor unlocked her husband Ethan’s iPad to discover nude photos from a twenty-six-year-old bombshell named Lindsey, her seemingly perfect life came to a screeching halt.

With a hurricane barreling toward Florida and Ethan stuck on a business trip, Tessa finds herself imprisoned in her own home with a choice to make: Does she ride out the storm until she can confront Ethan in person, or does she take matters into her own hands?

Increasingly restless and desperate for revenge, Tessa resolves to act. And when she lures Lindsey over a few hours later, there’s no turning back.

What ensues is a battle of wills between two well-matched opponents, blinded by love for the same man but driven by demons of their own. Like storm-ravaged Florida, neither woman will be the same when the skies clear.

He’s mine. Both wife and mistress would stake their lives on it. But only one of them can be right.

I Didnt even get to chapter 7 before I gave up.on this book. I'm not sure if the author did it on purpose but I just cannot stand one of the characters so much that I cant finish the book. The mistress is a dizzy, stupid woman. The only thing she cares about is the approval of a man she has (at this point) met once. She is incredibly selfish and I just cant stand it. At one point she forgets to call her son (a promise she made) because she was "too busy thinking about Ethan". If the mistress wasnt written as a pathetic, stupid woman I definitely could have got into this book, as the story seemed to be going somewhere interesting.

Enjoying the story and how it goes back and forth to Tessa and Lindsay, before and current. The only issue is the “F” word used so lightly.

The story was interesting, but predictable. Good narration. A decent read when you are in the mood for something simple, but exciting to read.

This book was listed under mystery and thrillers but I’m not sure I would classify it that way. The women’s fiction genre was the more accurate description. During a hurricane, Tessa is home alone and grabs her husband’s iPad to do some work from home. She sees nude photos sent to her husband and sees red. From here, I’m not sure exactly what I had expected, but it definitely wasn’t what I read. The book switches between two point of views, Tessa and Lindsey. Those point of views could be past or present. There wasn’t anything to label it that way but it was obvious a few sentences in which time you were reading. Tessa’s story was mostly told in the present, noting how she felt as she realized the man she was married to wasn’t at all what she thought. Lindsey’s story is told little by little in the past until they reach the present. I found this intriguing and it built the story nicely. I only give this book 3 stars because being listed as thriller, I expected a lot more ‘action’ and more edge of the seat type storyline. What I got was more of a slow burn that had a few ‘suspenseful’ moments. I did want to keep reading because I just had to know what happened next. It felt like it was kind of just abruptly ended after such detail throughout the book. I was left with so many questions. I would recommend this book but I would describe it as a drama.

This book was provided by Netgalley and Kensington Books in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All thoughts are my own and in no way influenced by others.

It’s a good book... but the main character is in a state of panic most of the time and listening to that was giving me anxiety. I feel like this is one I should have read myself.

Got a third of the way; I'll have to finish reading it because the narrators are too theatrical for me. It is a dramatic story that starts very fast, just too much for me to listen to after awhile.

I am so happy that I gave this book a try and listened all the way through. I wasn't sure this was going to be a storyline that I would enjoy or even get very far into. In retrospect, my opinion is that a lot of women could take something from this story. There's a little truth for everyone, even if the circumstances are different. I highly recommend listening to this or reading it without any preconceived ideas of what it will be about.

Amazing. Just Amazing. It was crazy, intense, and you could just feel the rage in your soul. That's what I like in a book and that's exactly what I got.

I feel like maybe the story is okay but the narrator's voice acting and screech yelling the whole way through makes me just hate every character. I should have read it instead of listening, maybe? MAYBE!

The younger narrator was super annoying. (Sorry) the story was so so. I listened to it while cleaning and it kept my interest.

Great reading by Caitlin - she kept me fully engaged. Her energy and pacing was excellent. For anyone who has been in a situation like this - Courtney Cox’s writing touches many nerves. She creates a story that is credible and provocative on many levels and I imagine for many will resurface lots of emotion. Thank you.

I liked the narration but the story was just okay. I felt as if it ended very suddenly and wanted there to be more to the story than basically one long confrontation.

It started off weak with the narration grating on my nerves and was almost a dnf but as I read further, I found that I became engrossed in the story. I ended up even kind of liking the narration although I never got to the point of loving it.
