- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am not a very athletic person nor am I that interested in sports. I picked this up on a whim from the library and figured at the very least I would appreciate the illustrations (by the way, I want every single one of these plastering my wall). I didn't realize how enthralled I was going to become in all these women. There were so many women I hadn't heard of before (probably more to my lack of interest than sexism, although that definitely plays a role). As I read I found myself at one moment totally inspired and impressed and empowered and then angry and bitter and frustrated because of all the crap women have had to deal with in the past and are mystifyingly still dealing with in the present (It's absolutely absurd.). I was loathe to return it to the library, but I hope to get my own copy in the near future. To tide me over, I have Women in Science also by Rachel Ignotofsky that I am going to try to make last until I can buy a copy of both.
