About this audiobook
Juliette and Warner’s story continues in the thrilling fifth installment of Tahereh Mafi’s New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series.
Juliette Ferrars isn’t who she thinks she is.
Nothing in her world is what it seemed. She thought she’d finally defeated the Reestablishment. She thought she’d finally taken control of her life, her power, and her pain. But Juliette has only just begun to unravel a lifetime of lies, and she finds herself faced with a familiar choice:
Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
This time, she’s not alone. Stronger, braver, and more resilient than ever, Juliette will fight for life and love with her friends by her side—but first, she has to survive the war being waged against her mind:
She has to remember who she was.
Narrated by Juliette, Warner, and Kenji Kishimoto, this gripping novel perfectly sets the stage for the highly anticipated forthcoming conclusion to the Shatter Me series.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I do not even know where to start!
Reading this series was definitely a delight! I thought since it was YA that it was going to be cheesy and not very well written.
I have to say that I am blown away! Tahereh Mafi definitely sucked me in with this series!
I read all the books as well as the novellas in under 2 weeks! I couldn’t put them down!
I loved the twist of the unexpected love story forming in the earlier books! I love how she was so intuned and on the nose with the emotions and feelings of all the characters and not just Juliette (Ella). She had every character and their different lives and she captured them beautifully.
I felt what they felt! at times i got aggravated, excited, sad and you could feel that the love and all the emotions were captured!
I loved that she was able to make the “love scenes” appropriate and tasteful.. leaving room for your imagination take hold without giving you all the details.
This story line was amazing! The twist of the apocalyptic feeling and the impending doom of the reestablishment! Then throw in the aspect of super powers!
Well done! I am utterly blown away by her writing skills!
I often find it hard to get into most books from outside my normal authors, but this is one I definitely recommend all the time i was reading to everyone!
Very well edited! Only a few mistakes i saw with that! But it was very well put together and written very well!
Definitely glad that i found it at goodwill! I would definitely read this! Old or young it is just a well written series and it will stay with me.1 person found this helpful

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This great series continues with this penultimate installment. Kenji, Juliet’s best friend and sidekick, plays a bigger role in this one which I was very happy with as the guy is such a clown and terribly, terribly funny ???, providing much needed comic relief as things indeed get pretty seriously heavy.
This is a YA series after all, so it does get a bit YA-YA at times with the “what, what’s”, the “hmmmm’s”and the “I love you, I love you’s”’. But all that is still worth wading through as, overall, this great series is a definite thumbs ?? up!! ☺️ - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I greatly enjoyed this book, I thought the characters were quite compelling.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was by far, the most nerve-racking book I've read in my entire 15 years forth vivacity! My teeth were literally chattering when Ella was being tortured! Shit! It’s going to take some time to get used to that name. I grew quite fond of the name Juliet. But, Ella is nice, don’t get me wrong. Anyway, I can’t even describe the hatred I've held for Evee. And to be honest, the name Evee reminded me so much of the Pokémon, that it too, took some time to get used to. But yah, like; I DESPISE that woman!!! She better be dead! If she all of a sudden comes back to life, like Anderson did, I will personally climb into this book, and kill her myself! Oh, and I truly hope Ella kills her sister. I mean, I know that seems harsh, but Emileen is better off dead. No more suffering. No more worry or desperation. Hell, no more pity! She is practically a grown fetus waiting to be put down! … and no, I am not sorry for being cruel. Which, as a matter of fact, I am not being cruel; I am being rather “reasonable”. Despite the horror and devastation this book had to offer, I thoroughly enjoyed the flashbacks and memories being described throughout the story. And most of all, Kengi and Nizira are my favorite couple! I ship them so hard!!! They are so funny, and cute! And just, PERFECTION! Oh, and one last thing … Adam is pissing me off BIG TIME! Why can’t he just put on his ‘big boy underwear’ and accept the fact that Arron is his brother, and Ella is over him? Like, not showing up to Arron’s birthday party was a major dick move! I’ve lost all respect for this guy. Anyway … thank you for yet ANOTHER well-read story! Your voice is mesmerizing! So calm and soft! And the male voices suit each character PERFECTLY! Bravo. Bravo.
P.S: Nizira’s accent is spot-on! ?? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Incredibly narrated and packed with emotional character development that was a long time coming. A MUST READ !
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Terrific book probably the best book in the series iam waiting for next book
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Why, why, why, does this author, the absolute master of emotion, suddenly decide to cheap out on us? Why is everything "with emotion." Voice heavy with emotion. Eyes sparkling with emotion. Chest tight with emotion. Adding "with emotion" makes me feel NOTHING. I have just binged this whole series because of the emotional connection and this book the author just...gave up?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really like the way the characters continue to develop throughout the series. Just when you think nothing else can surprise you, BAM! Can’t wait to read the next one!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So many secrets and feelings in the three POV in the fifth book of the Shatter Me Series. Love, forgiveness, hate, hope, happiness, and the true knowledge that another day is never a guarantee are my takeaways on the latest adventures with Juliette and Warner. Mafi has given us books that show me the difference between the power we harness within ourselves versus the power we take from others.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5And.....things get stranger.....
Although I know this was a necessary part of the journey through this series I found this book hard to read. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This series should've ended at Ignite Me and that's the real tea sis.
I'm not even sure how to rate this damned book, it's definitely not a 3, maybe a 2.something
Either way, I didn't like it.
This book feels like an afterthought, like Tahereh wanted to extend this series so badly she just conjured up idea after idea and when she didn't know which one to choose, she just crammed them all together in one damned book.
There was a lot of info dump, and little story telling. I hate that.
If I had to sum up this book in a few points here's what I'd say:
- Info dump.
- Info dump.
- More info dump.
- Unrealistic plot points.
- Some more info dump.
- A lot of rambling and explaining to make that unrealistic point acceptable.
- Characters acting out of character.
- Info dump.
- Some more explaining to make me accept why characters are being so not themselves.
And so on and so forth.
All in all, I wasn't a big fan of this book, I was confused most of the time and annoyed for the rest of it.
But I'm willing to give Tahereh one more chance and wait for the next book before classifying this series once and for all. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Ehhhh, I'm sure it was a very important part of the series, but I felt like nothing had happened by the time I finished and it just felt like it could've been done in a short story. Not terribly impressed though I've loved the series so far.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this series so much! Finally in the book I was really able to love and accept Warner. It's been difficult for me to get over all the horrible things he has done in his past but this book explains even more of both Juliette's and his twisted past that makes me really love and root for them. I love where things are headed with this series and can't wait to for the next books!
