About this audiobook

The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves.

In his pursuit of power, Joe fights alongside his team, completes quests, and delves into the mysteries of his class, which he quickly discovers can only be practiced in secret. Ultimately, his goal is to complete every mission, master every ability, and learn all of the world's secrets. All he has to do is survive long enough to make that happen.

Having read this and the Divine Dungeon series, it did not fail to disappoint! Sequel Regicide comes out in 4 days so it was perfect timing! Keep it up Dakota!

Interesting concept - similarities to his Dungeon series but uniquely different. I actually liked this more than I thought I would - the Elon Musk stuff really turned me off at the start as I just thought it was cheesy, but kept listening and thankfully it only represents a small fraction of the story.

Ritualist takes one of my favorite tropes — trapped in a video game that has become entirely real — and tweaks it to keep readers (listeners?) fascinated until the end. Joe’s accidental (and eventually intentional) manipulation of the game brought me joy in every chapter. I’m looking forward to listening to the next in the series!

This book was recommended by a friend who stated it was one of his top books, and after reading the first book I was hooked! I definitely found the character development fantastic, and that I felt the characters were all designed realistically. The story line is fascinating and grand, but exciting with enough action to keep you very entertained! I powered through the book quickly and eagerly wanted the 2nd!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the audiobook. Excellent story (I haven't delved into this genre, preferring more adult themes, but this really kept my interest), excellent voice work, and I enjoyed the ethical themes. I would recommend this to anyone (especially teenagers). I look forward to the next in the series.

I enjoy this series very much and hope to see at least 10 titles in it. Great job for the author and the voice acting.

Meh. Book was okay, that is all I can give it. Technical writing was decent but when it came to plot, the characters and choices made...left with more questions than answers. Will not be continuing the series.
