- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5How I resist é um conjunto de ensaios, entrevistas, relatos e outros gêneros com a temática da resistência. O objetivo do livro é incentivar adolescentes e jovens adultos a se engajarem na luta pela democracia, pelos direitos humanos e pelas causas em que se acredita. O livro tem como pano de fundo a situação política dos EUA após a eleição do Donald Trump, visando apresentar diversas formas de resistir a esse governo e ao que ele representa.
De modo geral, eu amei ouvir esse audiobook, principalmente no momento atual que vivemos, que infelizmente tem tantas semelhanças com a realidade estadunidense. Os textos apresentam diversas formas de resistência e a importância de cada uma delas, o que me fez muito bem, pois, em tempos de desesperança, eu chego a pensar que algumas formas de resistência, na prática, não têm efeito algum. Porém, com a leitura desse livro, passei a pensar que, na verdade, a diversidade nas formas como se pode lutar e resistir é o que fortalece a luta. O fato de pessoas diferentes, com motivações diferentes e modos de atuação diferentes se engajarem em um mesmo objetivo garante potência e legitimidade à luta, sendo um conforto e uma esperança de que tempos melhores virão.
Ouvir o audiobook desse livro em vez de ler o livro físico ou ebook foi um pouco negativo pois acredito que algumas ideias se perderam. No início de cada capítulo, por exemplo, é feita uma breve apresentação da pessoa que escreveu o capítulo em questão, e seria bom ter essas informações escritas para que eu pudesse mais facilmente pesquisar sobre essas pessoas, acompanhá-las nas redes sociais, etc. Além disso, esse me parece um livro para se consultar sempre, por existirem trechos de fato consoladores e inspiradores aos quais seria interessante voltar de tempos em tempos para renovar as energias e o entusiasmo para luta, porém esse recurso de retornar a trechos do livro não é tão bom em audiobooks.
Apesar disso, gostei muito do livro e achei ele de fato muito importante para jovens que, como eu, queiram se engajar cada vez mais política e socialmente.
