About this audiobook

Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball-or that "Prince Charming" would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight. Who was that extraordinary woman? Ever since that magical night, a radiant vision in silver has blinded Benedict to the attractions of any other-except, perhaps, this alluring and oddly familiar beauty dressed in housemaid's garb whom he feels compelled to rescue from a most disagreeable situation. He has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, but this breathtaking maid makes him weak with wanting her. Yet, if he offers her his heart, will Benedict sacrifice his only chance for a fairy tale love?

I think this is probably one of the best books in the series. The series of all eight books is enjoyable but does begin to feel a little repetitive however this is quite stand out book to me.

This was a romanticized/somewhat erotic version of a Cinderella story.
Thought i liked the plot, the writing of Benedict was just bad! He was just 1 dimensional, just keeping his part and thinking only of himself. Not to mention he was projecting his own insecurities onto her.

Weakest story so far. The reasons keeping Sophie and Benedict apart are trite, even for a romance novel. This book also lacks the humor and wit of the previous two Bridgerton novels, which would have made up for the silly Big Obstacles they faced. A fairly forgettable story, overall.

This very Cinderella-esque retelling was fun, but not my favorite of the series. Benedict, for as much as he disliked other people taking advantage of Sophie, seemed like he kinda was too. He's basically her employer (through his mother) and yet he keeps propositioning her after she's said no for reasons that make sense to her. The power dynamic made me a little uncomfortable in this one.

One of the better stories in the series! Although a common trope, it was done well in this book. Believable, likeable main characters. Highly recommended!

I like Benedict. Being the “Second Son”, he doesn’t have the responsibility of his older brother, but he still kinda lives in his shadow as a Bridgerton. Plus, he is so witty and sarcastic, making him my of the boys thus far.

Sophie is a strong character that makes it through impossible olds for her HEA. Definitely enjoyed seeing a new twist on the “Cinderella” story.

This is my favorite of the series so far (and I accidentally listened to “To Sir Philip With Love” out of order). I love the twist on the Cinderella story, and it was a nice break from the formula of, “enemies to friends find themselves compromised and must get married, but fall in love anyway.” Sophie was a relatable and endearing character for those of us who can’t identify with the life of privilege the aristocracy enjoys. It was a lot of fun and I had trouble putting it down. Or turning it off.

Spoiler alert - if you do not want to know about the future of other Bridgerton's in the series, do not listen to the 2nd epilogue .

Wonderfully narrated! Entertaining take on this classic. Julia Quinn has a great way with words as she makes it very entertaining and gives us good glimpses of other characters for the next books in this series.

I liked this bridgerton book a lot more than I thought I would. Cinerella with a deeper plot and several twists that had me gasping. The suspense meant I couldn't put it down. Love it!

    Audiobook: Narrator - Rosalyn Landor

I’m officially a fan of this narrator! She does an exceptional job of bringing the characters to life in a way that pulls me completely into the book to the point I don’t want to pause or stop the story. Her accent is such that I don’t need to adjust the speed or struggle to understand it. She also does a great job of distinguishing between the various characters both male and female.

I loved the Cinderella feel of this story but I especially loved the way Benedict was totally taken by his lady in silver through the years. That kind of dedication is exactly what I look for. Sophie was a strong heroine even when she was being beaten down by her circumstances. When Benedict came along, she knew who she was and what she wanted (or didn't want) in life and stuck to it.

I’m loving all the Bridgertons and I’ve refused to look ahead at the series and I’m not reading blurbs so I’m going in blind and that’s making this all the more fun. I can’t help but queue up the next book immediately.

Sophie Beckett, recently lost her birth father, and even though he never acknowledged her as his daughter, he still made sure she was cared for until he passed away, and she was left with his wife and step daughters, and was treated more like a servant/slave than how she should have been treated. One night she has a opportunity to go to a ball, where she dresses up like a princess and feeling more beautiful and desirable than she ever has before. On this night she meets Benedict, one of the infamous Bridgertons, and shares a passionate kiss, one that will remain burned in her memory forever. Sophie knows that she can never be a part of Benedict's life, but then through a chain of events, she is thrown in his path once more, and knows that she will love him even though she knows they can never have a future together...An Offer From A Gentleman, is the third in the Bridgerton series. I have just loved reading this series, and this was the first time I was able to read this book ( I know...crazy huh)But I was in the mood for a cinderella type of story, and this one fit the book....I was totally satisfied with this one. I loved every page, every paragraph and sentence. Julia Quinn is one of my favorite historical romance authors....there is a unique way about her writing that is much different from any other....where her stories just draw in her readers and its like you have this compulsion to not let go of the book until you have finished reading it. It had a truly magical side to it, an Enchanting Love Story that will Captivate you!!!!
