About this audiobook

Everyone has a different term for zombies. I call them Zee because that's the term my mother used before she turned, speaking about the whole horde as though it was just one individual. Grammar has no place in the zombie apocalypse.…

Hazel is a regular teenager growing up in an irregular world overrun with zombies. She likes music, perfume, freshly baked muffins, and playing her Xbox—everything that no longer exists in the apocalypse.

Raised in the safety of a commune, Hazel rarely sees Zee anymore, except on those occasions when the soldiers demonstrate the importance of a headshot to the kids.

To her horror, circumstances beyond her control lead her outside the barbed wire fence and into a zombie-infested town.

“Five, Four, Three, Two—count your shots, Haze,” she says to herself, firing at the oncoming zombie horde. “Don't forget to reload.”

Really a well written book! Believable all the way through! I think this really would be a good movie! It blends a story line similar to World War Z into a well told unique story that is plausible all the way through. So many stories and movies fail to meet the believability quotient. Not this one. This was one of the best books I’ve read because it never fails to stick with a strong story line. Well done!

Fun, fast-paced zombie thriller with more than a few novel ideas, brought to life by excellent voiceover.

The writing and storytelling were excellent; it was the subject matter that I didn’t care for. Obsessed with Cawdron’s First Contact books, I accidentally grabbed a zombie book by mistake. Call me weird but humanity being degraded to that extent is not something I find entertaining. The fact that I read it through to the end is a testament to the excellent storytelling of the author. (If it helps, I leave 5 stars on all of the non-zombie Cawdron books).

It's fascinating view and explanation on zombies made this book a solid read. Or, I suppose in this case "listened" to. Voice actress was awesome. I actually started listening to other books she specifically voiced, because she did such a good job.
