      My book club read Patricia Bradley’s romantic suspense novel, Justice Delayed, several years ago. I suggested the book because I had devoured her Logan Point series. Well, we all loved the first book in the Memphis Cold Case series, and I vowed to read the series through. Three years later, and here I am just now reading book 2, Justice Buried. My reaction? What in the world had I been waiting for! This book has everything I look for in a romantic suspense — endearing characters with great chemistry, a puzzling case that keeps me guessing, and, as an added bonus, a setting that captures my imagination. I loved Justice Buried! It is definitely a recommended read!The two main characters, Kelsey Allen and Brad Hollister, were frenemies in high school. She was the nerdy and aloof rich girl, he the good-looking popular guy. Now years later they are first thrown together by their moms — oh yeah — and then by a murder. I loved these two characters. Brad is a tough and fearless cop, but only a risk taker in his job. Kelsey can be described as a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Given their differences and their less than stellar history, you would think these two would never get together. But there are sparks right from the beginning. And what a beginning this novel has. It is a page turner from the beginning. There’s plenty of action and suspense mixed in with the romance thread. There’s also a modern day mystery with roots in the past. The Memphis setting complete with the landmark Pink Palace Museum gives this book a great vibe. Both characters are believers, and their faith plays a natural and important role in their decisions.As I said, I waited far too long to read Justice Buried. Luckily I have books 3 and 4 already on my shelf, so no waiting for a trip to a bookstore or library. And in this time of social distancing, you can get your hands on the whole series from Amazon. Binge-reading is a must right now!Recommended.Audience: adults.

      Justice Buried is a well written suspense novel with a touch of romance. Great characters with good chemistry make for a story that you can't stop reading until you know how it ends. Although I have never read anything else from this author, I will definitely be on the lookout for more of her books.

      I really enjoyed seeing how Kelsey worked to get her business noticed and worked at proving that she was needed to the businesses that she was trying to work with. Kelsey is working with the Pink Palace Museum and finds herself in over her head when her security measures have to turn to investigating a murder and to working with Detective Brad Hollister. Having visited the Pink Palace it was easy to imagine the scenes and that made it a bit more interesting. This book will keep you guessing until the end. I received a copy of this book from the publisher, the review is entirely my own.

      Kelsey Allen is a security expert who is hired by the Pink Palace Museum to test their security and finds herself the target of a murderer. She works with the local police department to find the person who is threatening her. The book is a great read – lots of suspense – a little romance. It is the second in Ms. Bradley’s series, Memphis Cold Cases. I have not read the first one and do not feel that I needed to in order to enjoy this novel – it stands alone. I won this book from the LibraryThing’s Early Reviewer program.

      So, so, soooo good! I had no idea how the story would end. Mostly mystery with a couple references to God and a tinge of romantic chemistry.

      I found Patricia Bradley's second in the Memphis Cold Case series to be interesting and an enjoyable read on several levels.I found the characters niched into their gender and professions. It was quite fitting that a 2017s 20 to 30 year old female, Kelsey the lead female, would be a strong climber. While this is not quite the norm, it is a growing trend among the young adults of today. Also, that she was a computer hacker par excellence. These two elements are major components in the story.Detective Brad Hollister has just been transferred to the Cold Case Division which makes his former girlfriend come trotting back into his life. She really doesn't want a "cop" for a husband but perhaps considers a cold case investigator a safer choice. Soon it comes to her attention as well as the readers of Justice Buried that safe is not necessarily a word to use in relation to the cold case division's work.A fairly light read that gave enough suspense, romance, drama to suit this reader.I received a copy in a contest on the Library Thing website.

Now, readers will enjoy book two in the series, Justice Buried that for me was more thrilling than the first novel! The main female character named Kelsey Allen is a woman who has guarded her heart for years, carried pain from her past and turned into one of the best athletic and daring women in her family.Kelsey’s father disappeared over 20 years ago and is suspected of robbing the very museum of artifacts he oversaw, but did he? She is hired to be an undercover curator at the same museum her father once worked at, but only few people know her true identity. Kelsey was adopted by a man named Sam whom her mother married when Kelsey was very young; therefore, her different last name doesn’t reveal her biological father.Kelsey loves her sister Sabra and niece Lily who loves to rock climb with her aunt and seems to love danger and adventure as much as Kelsey. Life becomes a deadly game when someone begins actively going after Kelsey, involving a police detective named Brad Hollister. Kelsey isn’t too thrilled as they knew each other in high school and it wasn’t a positive or close friendship.Now her life is in Brad’s hands and Kelsey isn’t just going to sit around and wait for someone to come after her if she has any say in the matter. What will keep readers turning pages for hours is the danger doggedly on Kelsey’s heels and the many attempts on her life. The way this tale is written kept me guessing who the responsible party was and how the author was going to write about the blooming relationship between Kelsey and Brad.Grab a copy and hold on! It’s a great suspense filled story just waiting for you to enjoy!

      This second entry in Cornwall’s “Memphis Cold Case” series is a fine thriller, weaving together crimes of the past and the present. Kelsey, who has a background in museum work, has gravitated toward a new career in security, partially due to a need to make up for the sins of her father, who disappeared when she was a child after being accused of a series of thefts at a Memphis’ “Pink Palace” museum where he was curator. So she is the natural candidate to go undercover at the museum to investigate a series of current thefts. But the thefts soon lead to murder, and she finds herself working with Memphis police detective, Brad, and an attraction blossoms. Soon the cold case of her father’s disappearance and the very hot case of mayhem at the museum. If Brad and Kelsey survive, they .might have a future.The mystery was very well done, with plenty of questions and suspects. The suspense was top notch. The romance was generally believable, but was a bit unbelievable in the speed at which it developed, and there was a complication of the return of a former fiancée which didn’t seem to serve much purpose.Overall, a very good story.

      "Justice Buried" is a faith-based romance novel with a "gentle" murder mystery that will not offend anyone. . The faith-based aspect, not mentioned in the publisher's synopsis, was featured only incidentally until the climax. The synopsis did mention the "romantic tension" and that is a significant element of the story, somewhat reminiscent of a Sandra Brown or Julie Garwood novel. The book is more of a romance than a murder mystery.Kelsey Allen, a rock climber, computer expert, and conservator, has been hired by a security firm to investigate their clients' vulnerabilities. A mysterious figure observes her gaining unauthorized access to one client's office building and attempts to shoot her. It soon becomes clear that a murder had taken place and the shooter believed Kelsey could identity him. Before long Kelsey's boss is murdered and additional attempts are made on her life. Brad Hollister, a detective on the cold case squad, is investigating the disappearance of Kelsey's father over 20 years ago and he takes it upon himself to insure Kelsey's safety. Most police procedural and PI novels today include a romantic component. That helps in creating multi-dimensional characters and it enhances the story, so long as it remains a supplemental aspect. Tami Hoag is one former romance novelist who maintains that balance skillfully. In "Justice Buried" the focus on Kelsey and Brad's thoughts about each other and their social/romantic angst and self-doubt depicts them more like insecure teen-agers than mature professionals in their mid-30s. For a period toward the end "Justice Buried" loses all balance and turns into a full-blown romance novel before finally turning to the solution of the murder. I found the gender-stereotypic treatment of Kelsey and Brad to be somewhat boring and mildly irritating. Although a rock-climbing, adventurous person, Kelsey's role was primarily passive. Following each of the multiple attempts on her life she is shocked and passive while Brad takes steps to protect her. "Justice Buried" does turn the gender stereotype on its head during the final confrontation, but the ending was weak and I felt cheated by the lack of a more interesting and intellectually satisfying ending.In summary, parents could permit their pre-teen or early teen-aged children to read the book without concern. The writing is amateurish at points, some of the metaphors do not work, and the ending is flat but adult fans of romance novels who are not bothered by these shortcomings will also find it to be entertaining. I found the story to be somewhat entertaining but I would have liked a sharper focus on the murder and less emphasis on Kelsey's and Brad's romantic insecurities.

      I did enjoy this book. It had some twists but I did have it figured out before the end. It was a good mix of a Christian book with romance and suspense. I would read other books by Patricia Bradley.

      Surprisingly good. Lots of suspects, but before the end the main suspect was clear. Were there accomplices? No spoiler alert here. It was a Christian book, but it wasn't dripping with Bible verses or platitudes. I would say religion came through at appropriate times. If one is interested in "cozy mysteries," this book is a good one.
