In this case, diamonds are not always a girl's best friend. An intriguing story.

I believe I read another novel in this series in the past which may have been why I requested this first book in the series. I think I liked the other novel better. I didn't realize this was book 1 in the series while I was reading it--I guess it makes sense since the cold case unit seems to be being formed.Potential Spoilers Ahead--read more at your own discretion:Andi wants to make a name for herself in journalism--apparently as a testament to what her deceased sister wanted. So much so that she's putting off fixing her back that she hurt to get a story and is willing to take pain meds for it. She's also deluding herself that she's not becoming addicted to them and apparently is using them to dull emotional pain as well. Jimmy confessed to killing Andi's sister, but now someone from the past steps forward to say that there is proof he didn't do it. With only a few days before the execution is to take place, Jimmy's cousin, Will, must hustle to put together the pieces of the story to find out the truth before it is too late to save Jimmy.

A perfectly gripping start to Patricia Bradley’s Memphis Cold Case series, Justice Delayed delivers everything a fan of romantic suspense could want. With plenty of high-stakes action, drama, and danger amidst, of course, the suspense and romance, a murder thought to be solved needs to be reopened as a cold case and brings a reporter and a detective together to find the true killer. Moving at a fast pace, this plot kept me intrigued at every turn, and I enjoyed guessing at the truth along with the characters. Well-written and realistically compelling to the very end, Justice Delayed is a page-turner that lovers of romantic suspense should not skip. I recommend it.Thanks to Revell Reads, I received a complimentary copy of Justice Delayed and the opportunity to provide an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Title: Justice Delayed (A Memphis Cold Case Novel #1)Author: Patricia BradleyPages: 352Year: 2017Publisher: RevellMy rating 5+ out of 5 stars.A friend of mine has read and enjoyed Patricia’s novels for a long time now not until I read her newest story did I fully understand the reason. In Justice Delayed, we meet a spunky woman named Andi whose sister was murdered many years ago. Even with the age difference Andi was close to her sister and became a journalist due to the last words she heard her sister speak to her.In the past, four women stewardesses lived together and may have become involved in illegally smuggling rough diamonds into the States. While not technically a cold case, the man who is to be executed for murder in a matter of a few days receives a letter stating he didn’t do the deed. Now, his cousin, who is a detective in the cold case unit, must try to find out the real perpetrator or the evidence that proves the man’s guilt. The twist is they are related and Andi knows them as well, having grown up together in the same neighborhood. Both Andi and her brother Brad and detective Will eventually come together to find out the truth about Stephanie even though their friendship is strained by the case. Will has issues with his birth mother and her coming once again into his life uninvited along with trying to keep Andi from further harm as she digs into stories that are dangerous. Add to that the growing feelings Will has towards her and vice versa and the story just keeps getting better and better.I loved how well the author kept me guessing as to who committed what deed and how the various threads of different cases may come together to reveal a completed tapestry of truth. There are familiar issues, addiction, danger, action and adventure all while on the road to uncover the truth that has been buried for over a decade. I hope if you are not familiar with Patricia Bradley’s books that you too will grab a copy and enjoy the mystery and the tension as it builds throughout the story all the way to the conclusion!

I became a fan of Patricia Bradley’s books when I read her 4-book Logan Point series. A new series, The Memphis Cold Case series, has started out with a bang! Justice Delayed is a page-turning romantic suspense that will appeal to fans of this genre. I loved it!From its opening Prologue, Justice Delayed caught my attention and never let go. A plucky, yet flawed heroine, a tender and hunky hero, and an 18 year old mystery all combine to make this book highly readable and believable. I liked the race-against-the-clock plot, the mystery that unfolded for the reader right along with the characters, and the natural faith that was woven throughout. Characters definitely do not have all the answers — they struggle with the same doubts, fears, and failings of us all. I liked that they were like regular people. There were a lot of characters introduced, and I found myself struggling to keep up with who’s who. But I think that this is due in part to their appearances in forthcoming books. The ending came a bit abruptly for me — I would have loved an epilogue. I am hoping that some of the loose ends with relationships will be tied up in the next books. All in all, Justice Delayed was a great read. It’s a great edition to a romantic suspense library.Recommended.Audience: adults.(Thanks to Revell for a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are mine alone.)

This is a great beginning to a new series. I loved Andi and Will. They work well together right from the start. There were many twists and turns in this book of suspense and a little romance. Andi will learn things about her sister that might upset her. Will is learning a new job of solving cold cases. Together he and Andi will solve this cold case. I received this book from Revell reads for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

In a salute to the investigation of Cold Cases and of wrong persons being convicted and imprisoned, Patricia Bradley weaves a tale that began years prior to the present date during the years several young ladies were airline stewardesses traveling internationally. In later years and after seeking education, they landed squarely in various professions. While traveling as stewardesses, Stephanie, the sister of Andi (the book's leading lady) is murdered and for this her friend and erstwhile sweetheart is convicted.Fast forward eighteen years, another of the stewardesses is found dead of a suspected suicide but there are questions that surround the case. Andi's brother is an investigator as is their "growing up together" neighbor, Will.Trying to solve a suspected suicide or murder in current time and finding it perhaps connects to an eighteen year old case for which the man who was convicted is to be executed in a few days time, proves to be a daunting task. Andi uses her professional television investigative reporter skills as does Will to pursue all clues. An interesting read and totally surprising ending. Now there was one thing I didn't care for. The author used similarities of names to add an additional layer of perplexity to solving the mystery. Lots of names beginning with "J" and "D" and the hint that JD is a culprit. But just who is "JD"?DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy from the Revell Reads blog review program to facilitate

From the first page forward the author had me page turning, and often with my stomach in my throat, and was ready to jump at any time. Non-stop action, and when you think you know the answers, you might, but I’ll bet not all of them, at least not until the last few pages of the book. Our girl Andi is one tough cookie, especially when she was born with a heart defect, and unfortunately the surgery for her was paid in blood. She is a fighter, and bullets sure don’t seem to get her down, but she does need some help. There is a bit of romance here, and when the book ended I was wondering about one couple that maybe could end up together, but ah I see there is another book coming. This one won’t leave you disappointed if you love mystery and suspense, this might be the answer this one seems to have it and more. While we start the book thinking we know the answers right from the beginning, but more leads to more and more, and we are still looking.I for one cannot wait for the next book in this series, and it cannot come soon enough.I received this book through Revel Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
