      Be aware that someone else’s review contains spoilers.Sugar daddy.2.sugar rush 3.sugar free. Am glad that Scribd has made this available again. It has gripping suspense, hot romance scenes, and an extremely serious quest for revenge.Two of the books end in a cliffhanger.

      Good-ness!!! I mean - REALLY????? I sat shaking my iPad trying to make another page come out so it wouldn't end like that!!

      While I struggled between 3 and 4 stars (I rarely give anything 4 stars and even less 5) - 4 won just by the emotional ending. I'm SO glad I'm late coming to this trilogy b/c I don't have to wait in agony for the 2nd book. Cruel. My heart goes out to all who had to endure that wait.

      This was about a 3.5 for me. I marked it off partially because the premise seems preposterous to me-particularly how much Sela seems to trust Beckett and yet can't trust him enough to voice anything. It seems to me the opposite would happen, but I'll accept it.

      I also thought Beck could use a little more development. His actions speak to a lot of "good guy things" but they were fleeting and could've been more developed. Also, as my notes from the reading of this book mention, the one night stand thing is driving me crazy.

      I did enjoy this read, the cliffhanger doesn't make me want to rush out to read the next--but I will put it on my list.

      If you want to know about the story, read the synopsis.  Anything I state in this review may give away the plotline progression.  This is a book series you need to experience for yourself.  Yes, a book series.  Although this review is for book 1, you are going to want to know what happens with Sela and Beck.  I have no hesitation in pronouncing that edict.  So let’s discuss about the characters and how they make the reader feel.

      “I didn’t come tonight hoping to find a Sugar Daddy.”
       
      Sela is a tough nut to crack.  With what she went through, there is no doubt she would harden her heart before letting anyone in.  For anyone to have gone through that traumatic experience at that age, and then with no absolute closure would leave you closed off and remote to anyone.  Ms. Bennett paints with a detailed brushstroke the pain and guilt that drive this young woman to plan her revenge. I may not be able to relate to her exact feelings, but as a woman, I sure empathize with her plan.   Our hero, Beck, he is the one I can clearly relate to.  He is me.  Always believing in the best in someone. Whether my parents or friend, that this person I believe will do the right thing.  And when what you believe begins to crack, it shatters your world.  Who doesn’t believe in their core that the people you have known longest can be saved from their actions or maybe have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment for themselves. Again the character of Beck is believable in his actions. 

      “And I certainly wasn’t looking for a Sugar Baby,” I tell her with a chuckle. “And I’m the one out of your league.”

      Before I fell into reading contemporary romance full time, my genre of choice was suspense/thriller. Think Dean Koonz, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum. This book has fulfilled that missing gap in getting my heart pounding for more than one reason. As always the relationship arc is believable and not rushed. Ms. Bennett delivers the erotic on the steamy, making you hot and bothered without feeling like you’ve witnessed a 25 cent porn video. But it’s the suspense aspect of the story that kept me up late last night turning the pages needing to find out how this troubled woman will make it through. And BAM! You are now standing with your mouth open.
       
      I am admittedly a Sawyer Bennett fangirl.  I love her style of writing with getting an in-depth dual POV.  Her storylines are always engaging and perfectly paced.  Whether it’s her legal, family & friends or sports romance, you are always in for a 5 star read.  However, without a doubt, romance suspense is where this author soars and exceeds my expectations.  Prior to this book, I would have said hands down, Legal Affairs, was my favorite series.  We have only been offered book one from the Sugar Bowl and already I can say - #1 favorite of her entire catalogue of novels.   Whether or not you’ve read her before, I highly recommend you pick up this book.  Come join us on the cliff – it’s a hell of a ride getting there so far.  5 out of 5 heartstopping stars

      What do you get when your favorite write steps out of her comfort zone to write a book like she has never written before? PERFECTION. Sugar Daddy is the first book in the Sugar Bowl Series and is bound to get your heart pumping and nails bitten down to nothing.

      I love Sawyer Bennett and have read every single book she has written. This has got to be the most nerve-wracking book ever with a cliffhanger to put you over the edge. Yes there is a MAJOR cliffhanger, but that is to be expected in a 3 part series. I do not want to give anything away, so just know that you will NOT be disappointed if you read this book, promise!! Twists and turns and holy cow I didn’t see that comings… did I mention that I LOVE Sawyer… 10 SOLID hearts!!!!

      Wow! This was my first Sawyer Bennett book and after reading it, I will have to check out another. Ms. Bennett's writing style is enjoyable and draws the reader in right away. This story is well written, fast paced and steamy. I didn't realize it would end in a cliffhanger and boy, does it! I need the next book now!ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

      4 "Love or Revenge?" Stars!Lovers of revenge driven plots with a sexy edge will enjoy Sawyer Bennett's new series, Sugar Bowl. Showcasing her signature talent with hot, sexy romances, Sugar Daddy--the debut of this new series--has some seriously hot scenes. But be forewarned, to get the full story you will need to read two more books (Sugar Rush and Sugar Free) as Sugar Daddy is the first part of a trilogy. Additionally, this book deals with the subject of rape and therefore may not be suitable for all audiences.Sela Halstead is looking for revenge against the man, and his friends, who took advantage of her in the most brutal of ways when she was just a young, naive teenager. It has taken years to recover, and she has never been able to have a normal relationship. So now she is resolute that the only way to move on is by exacting her own brutal form of violence.Her plan leads her to devising a plot which begins with her pretending to be a "sugar baby" looking for a "sugar daddy" on an online dating service similar to Match.com but for older rich men and young women looking for someone to support them. Though one would think that for a woman with her unfortunate background of abuse pursuing such a relationship which is clearly predicated on the sugar baby submitting to whatever the sugar daddy's demands are, would be impossible; it is the only way Sela can see to get close to Jonathan Townsend, the leader of the pack who wronged her long ago. You see, Jonathan is one of the co-founders of the sugar baby/daddy dating service, called Sugar Bowl.What Sela never expected, however, was falling for the other co-founder, Beckett North. Beckett is as different as night is to day when compared to Jonathan. He's the tech guy behind the scenes, seems genuine, and makes her feel things she never thought she'd ever be able to experience with anyone given her past. But is Beckett too good to be true? Can Sela ever give up her revenge plans, even for love? Moreover, like with any relationship built on lies, will the truth defeat them?I felt like this book had a slightly different feel from Sawyer Bennett's other books I've read, primarily her sports based romance series, Cold Fury. Specifically, Sugar Daddy had more of a new adult feel with characters that are less set in their personalities and perhaps more susceptible to influence. Corruption and decadence are also driving themes--whereas the Cold Fury series is generally all over more wholesome feeling. Interestingly, I've enjoyed both sides of Ms. Bennett's pen, and look forward to indulging in the rest of this trilogy with a slightly more wicked feel, once each part is released.Source: Review copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

      Sela Halstead was raped on her 16th birthday. Since then she has risen like a phoenix from the dark abyss of trauma recovery and got back on her own feet. It still haunted her in the decade after her rape and then she inadvertently discovered the identity of her rapist, multi-millionaire Jonathon Townsend. Now she has a plan to end him.Jonathon ("JT") Townsend and his business partner Beckett ("Beck") North, have created an empire from creating a matchmaking website linking wealthy men ("Sugar Daddies") with young, beautiful women ("Sugar Babies"). JT is the face of the company and Beck is the tech guru behind it. At a "Sugar Bowl" mixer introducing Sugar Daddies to Sugar Babies, Beckett North consoles Sela, who was rejected by Jonathon. Beck and JT have no idea the history Sela has with JT. Nor do they have any idea of what her actual intent was that night. However, Beck and Sela hit it off and the struggle begins for Sela of which road to take: the road to revenge or the road to love.This book has alternating narration between Sela and Beck, one perspective per chapter. It seems to flow well but there were parts in rotating chapters that were repetitive since certain feelings and certain comments were repeated in the chapters. One can assume that it is to link perspectives but it came across as redundant at times. Furthermore, Sela's narrative repeats concepts every other chapter that seemed to be more of a filler than progress. The fact that Sela cannot trust any man, that Beck can get any woman he wants, that Sela wants revenge, and that Beck is filthy rich are mentioned far too many times. I gave this book only 3 out of 5 stars because of the repetition and because of the huge cliffhanger. It felt like there were so many fillers so that there could be a cliffhanger. However, the cliffhanger felt like I only got half of the book rather than a suspenseful ending. Also, I was rather annoyed at how often not only concepts were repeated, but full names were repeated. For example: "I, Sela Halstead, am...". On the other hand, I did enjoy that the antagonist was extremely manipulative and truly a villain. I also enjoyed the plot line, until the ending. For those who may be sensitive: there is excessive and very descriptive sexual scenarios, as well as drug use, rape, violence, foul language, and misogyny.Please note: a copy of this book was generously provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
