This was a very interesting Book and way out of my comfort zone. I am not sure if I could have be strong like Dana if I were pulled back into that time.

Rating: 5"Kindred" is a book from Octavia Butler, that was suggested to be read while studying colonialism. It's about the story of Dana, a young black lady, who lives in USA between 1976 (as an aspiring writer) and 1815 (as a slave). The genre of this book is fiction. "Kindred", by exploring the story of Dana, tells the story of black slavery in America of the 19th century. It's a well-written book and Dana's story takes you away, you feel like you live as she lives and you suffer the way she suffers. It's a must read book for anyone who studies or is interested in colonialism and black slavery history. This book is also substantial to realize furthermore the importance of the social moments "Black lives matter". I totally recommend it! 5/5

It was good to finally read (listen) to Kindred by Octavia Butler. It had been on my reading list for so long. It's a deep dive into the slave life on a plantation, with a modern day sci-fi twist. Inspired! The recorded book offered here on Scribd has at least five major skips in the audio. So there are sections of the book that I missed while listening. I checked my player and found it functioning. This recorded book needs to be re-uploaded and checked for its full content. Thanks!
