About this audiobook
Something wicked is at work in Colorado’s supernatural community. Vampires are being paralyzed or killed with poison…a weapon favored by witches. This offense threatens to break apart the already-fractured alliance between witches and the undead.
The state’s cardinal vampire, Maven, summons boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther to stop the killing before it ignites a war. Lex has barely started investigating when she gets another surprise: the biological father she’s never met arrives on her doorstep. He has answers to all of Lex’s questions about her bloodline, but getting those answers could mean betraying the life she’s already built.
Then the next vampire is poisoned—and this time it’s Maven herself. The new evil that hunts Lex is powerful and ruthless enough to stop the strongest supernatural creature in the state. In order to find such a killer, Lex will have to face down her own birthright and call on every ally—both living and dead.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This third Boundary Magic book has Lex learning more about her past while investigating balladonna attacks, mysterious deaths and magicians using crystals to attack and sedate people. Lex and her twin sister Sam were adopted at birth by the Luthers. Her mother died giving birth to the twins. Lex knows that her magic came from her mother but knows nothing about her. Imagine her surprise when a man named Emil Jasper shows up at her door claiming to be her biological father. Dealing with a mysterious biological father is not something she really has time for. Her boss Maven has been poisoned with belladonna - one of the few things that can harm a vampire - and Lex has to find a cure before chaos erupts in Colorado.Lex isn't working alone. She has help from witches Simon and Lily Pellar. She also has help from her deceased sister who visits her in dreams but isn't able to give her straight answers to her many questions. She also has the assistance of a ghostly boundary witch who was a madam in Colorado's more wild past. And we can't forget the assistance she has from Quinn who happens to be her love interest and Maven's enforcer. This story was exciting and filled with revelations about Lex's birth family. Lex also has to find a purpose for her life beyond protecting her niece Charlie. She also has to accept the boundary magic that is a major part of her. The author states that she is leaving Lex to her adventures for a while to concentrate on another series but leaves open the possibility that she will write about her again. I look forward to finding out what is next for Lex someday.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Boundary Born by Melissa F Olson and narrated by Kate Rudd is the third book in the series. This book takes a crazy turn into the world of super witches, wraiths, unknown murders, poisonings, deadly crystals, and so much more! These books are action packed, great fantasy, well developed that with thought out plots! I am hooked from beginning to end!The narrator is a terrific performer! Great job!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This review covers the Boundary Magic Series by Melissa F. Olson: Book1 Boundary Crossed; Book 2 Boundary Lines; Book 3 Boundary Born.
I read the three books in this series back to back and something that struck me about them is how well-planned it felt. I expect bigger and badder powers and enemies in each book, and this book had them so no surprise there. To me, each of those increases felt logical and as if the series had left room for it or foreshadowed it. It just felt very planned and I appreciated that.
Another thing I appreciated was that the love story in this series was first and foremost between Lex and her family and most importantly between Lex and her niece. Family is everything to Lex, it motivates everything she does. Her family is huge and sprawling and they populate her world. It's nice to have a woman in an urban fantasy not be alone and lonely.
Okay, yes, there is a love story, at least in that Lex falls in love. But it never dominates the true story of Lex doing whatever it takes to protect her niece. Actually, it doesn't take center stage much at all, to the point that when Lex did think about it I was sort of confused by her strong emotions because there hadn't been the intense buildup I expect from UF.
Other things I liked:
The witch stuff, how they were organized, how magic was treated.
Lex's new friends who teach her magic.
Lex's family and their number and variety.
That family was always the most important thing in these books, from start to finish.
[I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.] - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is the third (and sadly last) book in the Boundary magic series. This was the best book in this series yet and introduced a ton of new and interesting elements to Lex’s character.I listened to this on audiobook and the audiobook is very well done. I would definitely recommending listening to this entire series on audiobook if you like audiobooks. In this book Lex learns a lot about her Boundary witch powers and also learns who her parents are. All of this ends up tying in with a mystery surrounding belladonna poisoning of vampires. The story is very well crafted and comes together beautifully and I really enjoyed it a lot.Mainly this book is an investigative urban fantasy but there is a ton of interesting magic in here as well. Additionally some new and interesting characters are added into the mix. I was disappointed to find out that more books are being added to this series because there is just so much more that Lex could do.Overall this was an excellent book in this series and I was really impressed with it. Despite this being the last book in the Boundary Magic series, I plan on checking out some of Olson’s other books because I really enjoyed this series. I would definitely recommend this series to urban fantasy fans.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Boundary Born is yet another outstanding installment in the Boundary Magic series! The characters and the worldbuilding continue to rock, and Quinn is seriously the best boyfriend ever. I've read so much run-of-the-mill urban fantasy over the years that I had almost given up on discovering new, amazing additions to the genre, but this series has given me hope that there are still hidden gems out there just waiting to be picked up. I really, really hope Ms. Olson writes more books in this series!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have really enjoyed getting to know Lex. She loves fiercely and will do anything to protect her family, which she proves time and time again. I love how bad-ass she is and I love watching her overcome the obstacles and dangers that have been thrown at her in each installment of the Boundary Magic series. In BOUNDARY BORN she does more of what she does best, saving the day! There is ton of action as she fights to save herself and her friends from a foe she never saw coming. Her relationship with Quinn is still pretty present and growing. One thing that I missed in BOUNDARY BORN though was Charlie. We don't 'see' her once. I am not really sure what else I can say about BOUNDARY BORN without giving away spoilers so I will leave my review at that.I'm not sure if the Boundary Magic series is over or not. Olson states that she is taking some time off for a bit to work on other things. I really hope that it doesn't take long because there is SO much more Lex and friends to be had. I will miss them all until I see them again.* This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
