About this audiobook

Undercover agent Omar Zagouri has been ordered to Giza. A prominent Egyptologist was murdered, and a priceless artifact—the only complete version of the Book of the Dead—is missing. Omar is still reeling from the recent disappearance of his girlfriend, Mia Golding, but he puts his quest to find her on hold to track down the lost piece of history.

Omar’s mission is not just to locate the sacred book; he must also rescue the two archaeologists kidnapped and forced to translate its hieroglyphics under threat of death. Their kidnapper is determined to discover the text’s rumored explosive revelation: that Moses did not receive the Ten Commandments from God but instead copied them from the Egyptians. Though Omar’s need to find Mia grows more urgent, he must focus on finding the enemy who will stop at nothing to ignite a controversy that will change history, and the world, forever.

Omar Zagouri is back in action. This time, a new version of The Book of the Dead has been found and immediately stolen from a dig site in Egypt dating back to the Pharaoh Hatshepsut, the Lost King. In order to steal the document, an archeologist has been killed and two others, Kale and Farrah, are kidnapped in order to translate the new Book of the Dead and forever change modern religion. Kofman Enterprises stole the scroll to sell to the highest bidder in order to keep its secrets buried; but once Omar and Mia are assigned, they will stop at nothing to protect the piece of history.I loved joining back into the non-stop action with Omar and Mia. The other part that I loved is the switching point of view between the present and ancient Egypt from Hatshepsut’s point of view. This switching point of view makes it a fast-paced read and gives perspective from Hatshepsut’s side. Like the previous book, I ended up being caught up in Hatshepsut’s narrative just as much; her story is intriguing and her additions to The Book of the Dead are given depth. With the addition of Kale and Farrah in the present, we get a little more insight into Mia’s past and another antagonist with Kofman Enterprises that will lead to more experiences in books to come. This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

was asked to review Beneath by this author a short story and was really glad I did. This was last year.I was completely bowled over, great story, great writing from this author. I got the impression then that this was merely an introduction to the character Omar Zagouri. So when asked by Inspired by Kathy I was really pleased to now review The Lost King. This is the second book in the Omar Zagouri series. I was not disappointed. This is suspense mystery thriller which is about terrorism; politics and espionage thrown into the mix which I read in one go I was hooked. The author combines history with a bit of poetic license as this is a suspense thriller story. The protagonist – Hatshepsut- a pharaoh, but the author has created this character as a woman which I found interesting. There is romance, intrigue and some sexual tension too.All in all, this author is proving to be a great author and I am now looking for other books she has written.

I really enjoyed how this book went from modern times to the past. This is another thriller with Omar and Mia. They need to find out why a scientist was murdered in a pyramid and what was in some stolen scrolls. This leads them to Learning about the pharaoh Hatshepsut. There are many twists and turns for Omar and Mia. We get to learn about how Hatshepsut becomes pharaoh. I received this book from netgalley and book reviewers for a fair and honest opinion.

Another great read by H.B. Moore. I'm not a real big fan of historical fiction, at least I didn't think I was, but it's so interesting. I love how it's told in current day and also in ancient Egypt so you get both sides of the story. Plenty of action and edgy moments.

I received this book courtesy of Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
